The forecast for this week looks mixed so far, with rain or
showers at times. However, there will be some decent dry periods that will see temperatures ranging from the mid-high teens to low twenties. This week’s weather follows several days of record-breaking heat last week, when Ireland experienced some of its hottest temperatures ever. Temperatures rose above 30 degrees in parts of the country last Thursday and Friday due to a plume of hot air sweeping north from continental Europe. This week’s weather will be slightly cooler. Friday will be largely dry with some hazy sunny
spells in the southeast, with highs of 16 to 22 degrees. Advertisement Temperatures on Saturday will be in the low 20s, with the warmest weather in the south and southeast. Elsewhere around the country, there will be some light rain with temperatures in the mid-to-high teens. Sunday is currently looking like it will be sunnier and a couple of degrees warmers in general. Midweek forecast Today’s weather is looking largely dry with bright or sunny spells. There will be isolated showers in parts of the
country and highest temperatures will be from 16 to 20 degrees with moderate southerly winds. Tuesday will be mainly dry with clear spells and just a few lingering showers near the north coast, while top temperatures across the country will be 16 to 21 degrees. There will be a dry start on Wednesday morning, but rain and drizzle will develop in the west during the morning and spread eastwards throughout the day. The highest temperatures will be 16 to 19 degrees. Thursday will be a
bright day with sunny spells and some showers, mainly in the north and northwest. Highest temperatures will range from 15 degrees in the northwest to 21 degrees in the southeast with moderate west to northwesterly winds.
