According to the Securities Economic Magazine, GAC has officially introduced the Aion RT 2027 to the Chinese market with four versions.

The most notable feature of the Aion RT 2027 lies in its electric powertrain, which utilizes amorphous alloy electric drive technology. According to GAC, this technology reduces power consumption and improves operational efficiency, thereby increasing the vehicle’s maximum range to 710 km according to CLTC standards.

In terms of design, the 2027 Aion RT maintains the distinctive Velociraptor styling language with a rounded front end, soft lines, and a low-sloping coupe-style roofline. The charging port continues to be located on the front fender. At the rear, the horizontal LED taillights create a visual effect that makes the body appear wider.

The vehicle’s dimensions remain unchanged, with a length of 4,865 mm, a width of 1,875 mm, a height of 1,520 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,775 mm. Thanks to its aerodynamic design, the Aion RT 2027 has a drag coefficient of only 0.208 Cd. This is one of the factors contributing to the optimized energy efficiency of the electric sedan.

Compared to familiar D-segment sedans like the Toyota Camry or Kia K5, the 2027 Aion RT stands out thanks to its all-electric powertrain and significantly lower price. While the Camry and Kia K5 still target customers who prefer internal combustion or hybrid engines, the Aion RT opts for fully electrified technology.

The interior space has also been upgraded by GAC to be more modern. The car uses an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster combined with a 14.6-inch central touchscreen running on the ADiGO 6.0 operating system. The entertainment system has improved responsiveness and, for the first time, supports Apple CarPlay and karaoke functionality.

The Aion RT 2027 also features a 5.1-channel sound system with 11 speakers, a split panoramic sunroof with electrically controlled sunshades. The front seats can be folded with a single touch and include heating and ventilation. At the rear, the luggage compartment has a capacity of 540 liters, with a wide-opening tailgate and a low loading/unloading threshold.

In terms of driver assistance, GAC has significantly changed the technology configuration on the 2027 Aion RT. The new model no longer uses LiDAR sensors as before, but instead switches to a new generation of intelligent driver assistance systems. City NOA (Automatic Navigation Without Maps) is offered as an option, while highway driving assistance and automatic parking are standard equipment.

The vehicle also features additional active safety features such as automatic emergency braking when reversing, remote vehicle monitoring while parked, tire pressure monitoring, and an integrated dashcam.

In terms of operation, the GAC Aion RT 2027 continues to use a 400V power platform along with the new generation LFP CATL 2.0 battery pack. Two electric motor options are available: a 204 hp version and a more powerful 224 hp version. The driving range is up to 605 km and 710 km respectively, according to CLTC.

Compared to its predecessor, the electric sedan has been redesigned in terms of design, amenities, and driver assistance technology, while the powertrain has also been improved to increase energy efficiency.

With a starting price of around 388 million VND, the Aion RT 2027 boasts a significant cost advantage compared to sedans like the Camry and Kia K5. However, its actual competitiveness still depends on distribution plans and pricing in each market.

The interior of the Grand i10 is harmoniously designed, primarily using plastic and fabric materials, yet still giving a premium feel.
