Collins says she stays calm as Trump targets her

Kaitlan Collins told Andy Cohen she’d “never say never” about losing her cool as President Donald Trump’s insults toward reporters intensify. Less than a day after her appearance on Bravo, Trump singled her out at a Wednesday Oval Office briefing, accusing her
Kaitlan Collins didn’t promise immunity from the moment when politics turns personal.
On Tuesday night. on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live. ” host Andy Cohen pressed the point after suggesting Trump’s outbursts at reporters could eventually push someone in the White House press corps past the line. He floated the possibility that an exchange might flip from questions and answers into something raw. especially because Trump has been “particularly vicious toward female reporters.”.
Cohen asked Collins directly if she ever looked at someone and thought. “they’re going to break.” Collins answered with a “never say never” stance. but she framed what she believes reporters owe their job. “Reporters know their job is to ask the questions and not make themselves the story. ” she said. adding. “We’re people. too.”.
She also argued that Trump’s pettiness often rebounds. Collins recalled an episode involving sexual assault victims. when Trump told her she should “smile more.” She said she was thinking in that moment that the way the line of questioning was being discussed would not land well with the public—because she already knew how other people would respond.
For Collins, the test came quickly.
Less than a day after her Bravo appearance. Trump snapped at her during a Wednesday press briefing in the Oval Office. The exchange centered on the administration’s decision to drop his controversial “Anti-Weaponization Fund.” When another reporter asked about that move. Trump fumed as he gestured toward Collins.
He said. “CNN’s a very corrupt organization. with a corrupt reporter standing right there. never smiles.” He then escalated the personal critique. describing her appearance and demeanor in a way that turned the briefing into an attack rather than a clarification: “She never… a young beautiful woman [who] never smiles. I never see a smile off her face. I see her standing there with hatred in her eyes.”.
Hours later. Collins returned to the moment on her evening show. “The Source with Kaitlan Collins.” She didn’t stay in the emotional fallout. Her focus landed on the specific political question at the center of the controversy: Trump had refused to say whether he was dropping his “Anti-Weaponization Fund” for good.

Why does he always do that with cameras on? Just answer the question.
She said “never say never” but like… he already got in her head. Also the anti-weaponization thing sounds made up, like why are we even funding any of that? I don’t get it.
So he’s calling her “hatred in her eyes” over whether he drops a fund? Seems kinda misogynistic but then again reporters shouldn’t take it personally right? Like the whole thing is just ratings. CNN corrupt etc, sure, but he was still talking about her like she’s the story.
This is why I don’t watch press conferences, it turns into kindergarten. First it’s “smile more” then it’s “anti-weaponization fund” whatever that means, next it’s him insulting her looks. She’s “never say never” like okay but maybe she should just stop going on TV if she can’t handle it. Also I saw something somewhere that Andy Cohen egged it on or something, so idk.
