The man, who was in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cohasset police.
Cohasset police are investigating the death of a man who was found on a wooded trail Monday, the department said.
Around 10:30 a.m., a 911 caller reported an unresponsive person on a remote trail in Whitney Woods, police said.
After hiking around a mile and a half into the park, first responders found a man in his early 70s who had “sustained injuries.” The man, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A section of Whitney Woods was closed for about 3 and and a half hours while officials investigated the area, police said.
“At this time, there is nothing suspicious surrounding the death and there is no danger to the public,” the department wrote.
The investigation into the man’s death remains ongoing, according to Cohasset police.
