The music mogul, now 94, was discharged from the hospital on Thursday and is recuperating at home, according to his representative. The longtime executive—known for shaping the careers of artists including Whitney Houston. Aretha Franklin. and Kelly Clarkson—is in good spirits and relieved to be out of the hospital after his recent health scare.
Davis had been hospitalized in New York last week after developing an upper respiratory infection. At the time, his spokesperson said he was admitted out of an abundance of caution and expected to recover quickly.
The timeline seems to match that expectation. After spending the past week hospitalized, Davis is now resting comfortably as he continues recovering at home.
It isn’t the first health challenge he’s faced. In February 2021, Davis was diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy. Even through setbacks. he has continued to stay active well into his 90s—attending industry events and championing new artists decades after helping launch the careers of some of music’s biggest stars.
