Chris Hemsworth Shares Shirtless Alps Selfie With Kids

Chris Hemsworth spent vacation time hiking in the French Alps with his kids, posting a shirtless selfie and a hike video on Instagram while reflecting on raising them away from any sense that wealth is guaranteed.

Chris Hemsworth didn’t just take a break from work—he took his kids to the French Alps and brought everyone along for the moment.

The 42-year-old actor went hiking in the Alps with his children and shared a shirtless selfie that showed off his washboard six-pack abs. He also posted a video from the hike day on his Instagram page, captioning it, “Mountain goats just doing their thing in France.”

For Hemsworth, it’s not only about the view—it’s about how he’s raising the next generation. He and his wife, Elsa Pataky, share three kids: daughter India, 14, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, both 12. All three children previously appeared in his 2022 Marvel movie Thor: Love and Thunder.

In an interview with People in 2017. Hemsworth talked about wanting his kids to understand what money really means in everyday life. “I want them to have a great appreciation for everything. As a kid. we had very little money. and my parents saved up all year to just pay for a two-week camping vacation. Financially. we’re in a different position [than my parents]. but I want to make sure they know these things don’t come easy. ” he said. He added, “You have to work for it, and you can’t take it for granted. Success is more about the values we have and the type of people we are. rather than the material objects that we might obtain.”.

Back on the trail, Hemsworth’s latest posts sit at the intersection of summer adventure and a quieter message: the outdoors, the family time, and the work it takes to earn what you have—whether that’s a life that looks effortless on Instagram or the values behind it.

  1. I mean good for him taking the kids hiking, but isn’t it still like… super rich people hiking? Like how “away from wealth” is it if you can just fly to the Alps whenever. Also shirtless selfie seems kinda the opposite of humble.

  2. Wait so he’s saying he wants them to understand money doesn’t come easy, but then he posts a washboard six-pack and makes it look effortless. That’s kinda funny to me. Like the values part sounds good but the Instagram vibe is still like rich dude fantasy.

  3. The caption “mountain goats just doing their thing” is cute I guess but I thought the article said he raised them away from ANY sense that wealth is guaranteed, and like… that seems impossible when they’re in Thor movies with him? Also wasn’t he shirtless in every Marvel thing too? lol maybe it’s just marketing for the next movie or something.
