Bailey talked with host Alex Cooper about the inspiration behind her track “Cheatback. ” explaining that she uncovered past partners’ infidelity through a mix of clues: direct messages from other women involved. tips from fans. and small items in her boyfriend’s home that weren’t hers. And in one case, a detail small enough to miss ended up being the evidence.
“When she’s cheatin’ on me. ” Bailey said she found an eyelash extension in her partner’s bathroom—proof she knew they were being unfaithful. She described keeping it to herself at first. taking a picture. and texting her godmom—“my voice of reason.” She added that her sister Halle Bailey would be the one to “crash out” if she found out.
Instead of confronting him right away, Bailey said she “peeped it” and held her silence until the next morning. She told Cooper she walked into the bathroom “like it was brand new,” saying she still “wanted my night of cuddles,” before admitting she was jokingly “that toxic.”
When she finally confronted him in the morning, she said he lied—clear enough that her response was simple: “Of course. Deny, deny, deny, deny.”
In “Cheatback,” Chloe sings about cheating as a reason for revenge. When Alex asked if she’d ever taken that approach in real life. Bailey explained she doesn’t necessarily do a dramatic comeback—she cuts people off. “I’ll just start responding to people I never responded to. And then once I’m out of it, I just won’t text them back. That’s my definition. And I’ll be like, ‘Yeah, take that.’”.
Bailey’s openness about the way she handles cheating isn’t new. In 2023, she previously discussed being cheated on multiple times on “The Zach Sang Show.” “It’s alright. Been a couple times,” she said then. She framed it as a “them thing. ” not a “you thing. ” adding that every time she finds out somebody cheats. she moves on and tells them upfront: “You know. imperfect humans. but you cheat on me. I’m out.” She said they don’t believe her until their number is blocked.
She also repeated how she typically finds out. In 2023, Bailey said it came down to “God. Instagram. Life. Them.” She pointed to signs like not putting away evidence. including “Panties. hair ties. a lash extension on the shower floor that’s not mine and I haven’t been wearing lashes for a while.” She said she kept that quiet and waited “to collect more evidence.”.
Bailey described gathering enough proof “’till they can’t deny it,” so she couldn’t be “gaslit out of it.”
As for her dating life, Bailey keeps who she’s dating mostly under wraps. Still, she’s been linked in the past to people including Burna Boy, Gunna, Memphis Depay, and Diggy Simmons—though none of those rumored relationships have been publicly confirmed.
