Children’s lemonade stand robbed in Southie: gun shown

children’s lemonade – Boston police say two children running a lemonade stand in South Boston were robbed Wednesday after suspects asked whether they accepted Apple Pay, then grabbed the cash and one allegedly showed a black firearm before fleeing. Police released video and photos
Wednesday afternoon in South Boston began with something simple: two children hosting a lemonade stand and hoping passersby would stop for a cold drink. By 4:45 p.m., police say, that moment turned into an armed robbery.
Boston police said officers responded after receiving a report of an armed robbery near West Ninth Street around 4:45 p.m. The two children told police the suspects walked by the stand several times before coming up and asking if they accepted Apple Pay. Before the children could respond, police said, the suspects grabbed a box containing U.S. currency.
Police said one suspect then displayed a black firearm in his waistband before both individuals fled the area.
Boston police have released video and photos of the suspects and are asking for the public’s help. Anyone with information is urged to reach out to detectives at 617-343-4742. Community members can also submit anonymous tips through the department’s CrimeStoppers website.

Apple Pay?? who even does that for a lemonade stand.
Poor kids, like how do you rob a lemonade stand. Also the Apple Pay question sounds like they were just trying to see if they could scam them or something. I hope they catch these dudes fast.
So wait, they asked if the kids took Apple Pay, then grabbed cash, then one showed a black gun. But I don’t get it—if they were so “modern” about Apple Pay wouldn’t they just tap a phone and go? Sounds like some kind of robbery for sure but the details feel weird.
This is why I can’t stand Southie sometimes, always something. First it’s “kids just selling drinks” and then it’s a gun in a waistband?? like what are people thinking. If you rob children over lemonade you should be banned from society. I saw on TikTok earlier a guy said it was probably fake and just for clout, but idk, the video/pics make it sound real. Either way Apple Pay or not, don’t come near kids with that nonsense.
