Cherry XTRFY K63W Pro Compact brings UWB to lag-free wireless

At Computex 2026, Cherry XTRFY unveiled the K63W Pro Compact, a 70% wireless gaming keyboard built around Ultra-Wideband. The company says the approach cuts interference and sharpens timing, pairing it with an 8000 Hz polling rate, up to an 8x-per-millisecond
In wireless gaming, lag is the quiet deal-breaker—until someone tries to rewrite the rules. At Computex 2026, Cherry XTRFY did exactly that with the K63W Pro Compact, a compact 70% keyboard that leans on a technology gaming keyboards rarely touch: Ultra-Wideband.
The company’s pitch is simple. Traditional wireless keyboards rely on narrower frequency bands, and those are the places where interference can pile up fast. Ultra-Wideband is different. It sends data in short bursts across a much wider frequency spectrum. Cherry XTRFY says that leads to more precise signal timing. less interference. and a steadier connection even when you’re surrounded by other wireless signals.
That matters because the keyboard’s headline performance spec is built to mimic wired behavior. The K63W Pro Compact reports to your computer up to eight times every millisecond in both wired and wireless modes. matching the kind of polling rate you usually only see in wired keyboards. The keyboard is also powered by a 6. 000 mAh battery. which Cherry XTRFY positions as generous for its size—one it says helps avoid low-battery warnings interrupting long sessions.
The K63W Pro Compact doesn’t look like a typical “compact” experiment either. Cherry XTRFY uses a 70% layout that retains the F-row. while trimming down the sides to open up more desk space for mouse movement. Under the keycaps are CHERRY MX LOW PROFILE 2.0 switches and a new gasket construction. The company says the combination brings softer keystrokes and deeper acoustics than you’d usually expect from a low-profile mechanical keyboard.
Joakim Jansson, Director of Product Management at CHERRY, described the result as “a typing feel you would never expect from a low-profile keyboard.”
Pricing will likely be where the debate shifts from technology to taste. The K63W Pro Compact will be available in the US in August for $169.99.

UWB keyboards?? So like my mouse lag is getting fixed or what lol
8000 Hz already sounds like a gimmick. My last wireless keyboard said it was “low latency” too and it still felt delayed on shooters. I guess interference is real though, apartment life is chaos.
Wait, this is 70% with F-row AND UWB? I thought UWB was only for phones and stuff. Also how does a “wide frequency spectrum” not mess with everything else, like WiFi and Bluetooth? I’m confused but I kinda want to try it anyway.
169.99 for a wireless 70% keyboard is wild. 8000 Hz “up to eight times per millisecond” doesn’t automatically mean it’ll be smoother, but sure marketing will say it does. The battery is 6,000 mAh so maybe it won’t die mid-match… unless they count standby time or something. Would’ve been nicer at like 120.
