Check your Chase cards: Paze adds 10X bonus points

Chase Paze – Chase Sapphire and Freedom cardholders can now earn an extra 10 points per dollar when they check out with Paze at participating merchants through Dec. 31, up to $1,500 per month—an added bonus that can change how some travelers plan their spending.

The first time you’re offered a points multiplier that feels built for everyday purchases, you notice. And for many Chase Sapphire and Freedom cardholders, that moment is here: through Dec. 31, checking out with Paze at participating merchants can earn an extra 10 points per dollar—up to $1,500 per month.

For people trying to grow a stash of Chase Ultimate Rewards points, this is the kind of perk that can shift how you time purchases. Chase doesn’t often hand out broad points boosts like this, so the window matters.

The eligibility depends on which card you carry. Cardholders with the Chase Freedom and the cards below are seeing the category added under their benefits list: Freedom Flex. Freedom Unlimited. and Sapphire Preferred. A Chase Rewards benefits page update is also reflected in checks done by a writer at The Points Guy. who found the perk on a Sapphire Reserve.

There’s a key catch: no co-branded cards are eligible for these bonus points. And the perk doesn’t show up the same way for every card variant—Nick Ewen, The Points Guy’s Editor-in-Chief, reported he was not able to find the Paze category on his Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠.

At the same time, there are other merchant names worth scanning for. Paze’s list of participating merchants isn’t as long as some other checkout services. but it includes familiar brands: Domino’s. Dunkin’ Donuts. Fanatics. Newegg. Sephora. United Airlines. Whataburger. and—specifically relevant for travelers—United Airlines shows up again as a welcome option.

That matters because it changes the calculus for at least some flyers. One traveler writing from the perspective of a United-focused plan said they typically use a United℠ Explorer Card for United flights because it earns more miles per dollar on United purchases than other cards. With the Paze bonus added. the calculus shifts: the extra 10 points per dollar can make a United booking more attractive when made through this Paze checkout category.

There’s also what you do—or don’t do—before you pay. You do not need to activate anything to earn bonus points through Paze. What matters is selecting Paze at checkout and completing the order through the service. If the bonus doesn’t post after a few weeks, the advice is to contact a Chase representative.

These extra 10 points per dollar are earned in addition to any other rewards you already earn on the purchase, rather than replacing a bonus category the purchase would normally fall into. It’s also capped: the Paze bonus applies on up to $1,500 per month.

The benefit is limited to a specific period. Through Dec. 31 is the whole clock—so if you want the bonus, you need to plan eligible purchases before then.

For some cardholders, the upside can stack. One example given: using a Sapphire Preferred card through Paze can earn 12 points per dollar on a booking by pairing the Paze bonus with an additional bonus category on travel booked outside Chase Travel℠. which would earn 2 points per dollar on that portion. The Paze bonus itself remains the 10 points per dollar on up to $1,500 per month through Dec. 31.

If you’re actively trying to grow your Chase Ultimate Rewards balance. it’s worth checking your benefits list now and watching for Paze at checkout. The merchant list is limited. but enough recognizable names are included that the time-limited bonus can still be a practical win—especially if you had a flight. a meal. or a shopping trip in mind before the Dec. 31 cutoff.

  1. Wait so do you get 10x points just for paying with Chase or only on that Paze thing? Confusing.

  2. Sounds cool but I bet it’s one of those “participating merchants” where it’s like 3 places lol. Also the $1,500 a month cap feels low.

  3. Chase really said “check your cards” like everybody checks categories every day. I tried something similar once and it didn’t show up, so I’m guessing it depends on your location or your credit score or whatever.

  4. If United Airlines is on the list then why wouldn’t everyone do it?? I swear these boosts are always temporary though. Also it says no co-branded cards are eligible but I don’t even know what counts as co-branded anymore so… yeah.
