Chase Sapphire Lounge set for MIA upgrade

Miami-Dade County blueprints outline a planned 13,793-square-foot Chase Sapphire Lounge at Miami International Airport (MIA) in Concourse E, with an estimated $93 million-plus revenue projection over a 15-year lease. Final approval isn’t in place yet, meaning

For frequent fliers moving through Miami International Airport, the next wait might be easier than the last. Miami-Dade County has published documents showing plans for a new Chase Sapphire Lounge at MIA—an upgrade aimed at select cardholders and poised to reshape the airport’s lounge lineup over time.

The county’s blueprints describe a 13,793-square-foot passenger lounge space in MIA’s Concourse E. The location is mapped on the third floor above Gate E7. The documents also put a financial estimate behind the project. projecting more than $93 million in revenue for the government across a 15-year lease.

Still, the proposal isn’t finalized. It has not reached final approval yet, so travelers shouldn’t expect doors to open immediately. If you’re looking for a quick weekend lounge session, the answer right now is patience—this one appears headed for a longer runway.

At MIA today, the lounge options for credit-card holders are more limited than many airports. As of now, there’s only one other U.S. card issuer lounge at the airport: an American Express Centurion Lounge that opened in 2015. MIA also offers multiple American Airlines Admirals Clubs. an American Airlines Flagship Lounge. a Delta Sky Club. and a group of international airline lounges accessible via Priority Pass.

The incoming Chase Sapphire Lounge matters in part because the Chase network is already established and widely liked. Chase has eight open Sapphire lounges in the U.S., with amenities and elevated food offerings. The Sapphire lounge network also won Best Credit Card Lounge Network in the 2026 TPG Awards.

Access would come through specific Chase cards. The cards listed as providing complimentary access to Chase Sapphire lounges for cardholders—and up to two guests—are:

– Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club card
– Chase Sapphire Reserve
– Chase Sapphire Reserve Card (the J.P. Morgan Reserve card details are collected independently by The Points Guy and not reviewed or provided by the card issuer)
– Ritz-Carlton Credit Card (the card details are collected independently by The Points Guy and not reviewed or provided by the card issuer)
– Additional eligible Chase cards are referenced via “the following Chase cards. ” with guest access rules included in the same section.

The documents also lay out guest and age rules: cardholders can bring more than two guests for an additional fee, and children under two years old can access the lounge for free.

If you’re trying to plan your next trip using what exists today, Chase’s lounges are already operating across the country, and there are also confirmed plans for future lounges at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).

A practical way to think about the MIA announcement is this: the blueprint is real. the footprint is defined. and the revenue projection is already attached to the lease plan—but the passenger experience at Concourse E likely won’t land on your itinerary anytime soon. The documents point to an important shift in the lounge landscape at MIA. with the full rollout still waiting on approval.

  1. 93 million?? That seems crazy for a room. But I guess Miami always gotta be fancy. Also where is this even, Concourse E? I never even make it over there.

  2. Wait I thought Chase lounges already existed at MIA? Like I swear I saw something on TikTok about it being open. Maybe they’re just renaming the Admirals Club or something idk.

  3. If it’s “for select cardholders” does that mean regular people with a credit card are just stuck with Priority Pass lounges that are always crowded? Because last time I was there the Delta one was packed and the food was meh. Also why do airports keep building lounges like it’s gonna fix everything else? I’m sure it’ll open eventually though… eventually being like next year or 5 years.
