Catherine, Princess of Wales, stepped back into Wimbledon energy on Thursday, July 2—stopping by the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England for a day of second-round matches.
The 44-year-old watched the match between Arthur Fery of Great Britain and Otto Virtanen of Finland. It was her first visit to Wimbledon this year, placing her back in the stands as the tournament moved deeper into the day’s competition.
For a few moments, the outing wasn’t about the on-court drama at all. Catherine got the chance to help out in the ticket booth during her time at the grounds, then chatted with fellow tennis patrons as the tournament bustle continued around her.
She also met with children from the Shine Camera Club. The club teaches children the basic skills of photography through analogue/film cameras, with the aim of helping them learn how to stop, look and snap at the world they live in through their own eyes.
Catherine’s presence at Wimbledon isn’t new. She has served as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016. In that role, she regularly attends Wimbledon and presents the championship trophies to the tournament’s winners.
The day ended with more glimpses of her at the tournament—photos gathered from across her visit, showing Catherine’s stops around the grounds as Wimbledon’s second round played out on court.
