Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur reveals ‘cool’ plan ahead of Packers joint practice

The Arizona Cardinals have gone through three preseason games so far under first-year head coach Mike LaFleur. LaFleur was not happy with the Cardinals’ last performance against the Dallas Cowboys. Now, he is preparing for a week of joint practices with the Green Bay Packers, who are coached by his brother Matt LaFleur.

One Monday, the younger LaFleur revealed a fun plan for his Cardinals when they arrive at Packers camp, per Donnie Druin of On SI.

“It’s a cool place. They got the bikes with the kids and stuff like that, and that’s for a cool cause for the locals. And so we’ll do that too, just like a lot of the other teams do when they joint [practice]. And then there’s a ton of fans there. I mean, it’s Green Bay. What else you gonna do?” LaFleur said.

Matt and Mike have been close, but have coached together just once, as both were on the Atlanta Falcons staff in 2015 and 2016.

The younger brother also noted that he does love Green Bay and his kids are excited to see their Aunt Bre to get all the snacks.

Mike also took some playoff jabs at his brother, speaking to the media, per Rob Demovsky.

“If there’s an issue, I’m going to tell the guys, ‘Hey, you come tag me in. They can tag in my brother. And we’ll throw down on the 50,’” Matt said. “I think it’s going to be pretty special, but at the end of the day, we’re just looking to try to get good work on both sides. Certainly, always going to prioritize the Green Bay Packers but if there is another team in the National Football League that I’ll be rooting for, it will be the Arizona Cardinals.”

The Cardinals and Packers are set to face off on Friday night.
