Cara Delevingne Confirms Amber Heard Relationship Amid Depp Split

Cara Delevingne says she and Amber Heard had a romantic relationship during the highly publicized period when Heard was divorcing Johnny Depp—linking it to their time making the 2011 film London Fields and describing the dynamic as an “entanglement.”
Cara Delevingne confirmed on Monday, June 29, that she and Amber Heard had a romantic relationship—while Heard’s divorce from Johnny Depp was still dominating headlines.
Delevingne, 33, said the connection came down to a shared set. “It’s because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields. He was also doing the movie,” Delevingne said during her Monday, June 29 appearance on “The Louis Theroux Podcast,” referring to Heard, 40, and Depp, 63.
She added that jealousy may have played into the intensity of the moment. “I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy,” Delevingne continued. “Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose.”
Theroux pressed her to clarify what she meant by “I suppose.” Delevingne responded, “No, I don’t suppose. I know.”
When Theroux asked whether Delevingne considered her relationship with Heard to be “an entanglement,” the Carnival Row actress said she didn’t initially understand the word’s meaning. “I think it means a relatively short-lived liaison or series of physical encounters,” Theroux explained.
After that, Delevingne described her own dynamic with Heard in those terms. “We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose,” she said. “But she was also entangled with other people.”
Before the divorce fallout, Delevingne and Heard were first linked as friends in the 2010s. The women attended multiple functions alongside other famous pals, including Margot Robbie. Delevingne was also by Heard’s side following Heard’s 2016 split from Depp.
That same year, Heard filed for divorce, accusing Depp of physical and sexual abuse. Depp vehemently denied the allegations.
The courtroom timeline that followed has been just as public. Six years later. Depp sued Heard for $50 million. claiming she defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post essay about being a victim of sexual violence. Heard did not name Depp in the article, but countersued for $100 million. A jury found both Depp and Heard liable for defamation, with Depp ultimately awarded more substantial compensatory and punitive damages.
During the lawsuit, Depp accused Heard of having affairs with Delevingne and Elon Musk. Delevingne and Heard did not confirm their relationship at the time.
Heard began dating Musk after her split from Depp in 2016, but they didn’t confirm their romance until April 2017. Heard and Musk ultimately called it quits four months later. Musk later told Rolling Stone in November 2017 that he was “really in love” and that it “hurt bad. ” describing himself as being in “severe emotional pain” after the breakup and saying. “I’m looking for a long-term relationship. I’m not looking for a one-night stand. I’m looking for a serious companion or soulmate, that kind of thing. I will never be happy without having someone.”.

Delevingne’s Monday appearance lands in the middle of a story that keeps expanding—first on-screen, then in public court filings, and now in her own straight-from-the-source account of what happened after the divorce began.
