Cameron Brink savagely rips Enes Kanter Freedom over Natasha Cloud altercation
Former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom caused quite a stir on Sunday when he showed up to the Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky WNBA game wearing a shirt that read: “WOMAN noun: adult human female.”
Kanter Freedom’s gesture ruffled more than a few feathers after he and another former NBA player stated they were declaring for the 2027 WNBA draft because the league doesn’t have a policy that explicitly stated transgender athletes can’t play in the WNBA.
This comes on the heels of Sophie Cunningham’s comments about believing transgender athletes shouldn’t be allowed to play girls’ and women’s sports.
Kanter Freedom was ejected from that Fever-Sky game after getting into a verbal altercation with Chicago guard Natasha Cloud, and he was later banned from Wintrust Arena because his actions were deemed aggressive toward Cloud.
Seemingly everyone has voiced their opinion on Kanter Freedom’s stunt, and one WNBA player didn’t hold back in how she felt about it, as well as the ongoing debate about transgender athletes.
“For me personally, when it comes to the trans issues that I believe you’re talking about – I think it’s a non-issue, and I think it’s people trying to come for the trans community and I just don’t stand for that,” LA Sparks star Cameron Brink recently told the U.S. Mirror “I think what, I don’t even know what the [expletive] his name is – Enes Kanter – he’s a stupid piece of [expletive] and I think a lot of people think that. I think he’s just trying to stay relevant.”
Brink also added that she believes the WNBA is thriving right now not because of the ever-present transgender debate but because of the star power the league now has with players like Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, A’ja Wilson, and others.
She also hinted that Kanter Freedom is simply trying to capitalize on the WNBA’s current popularity to keep himself in the spotlight.
“I think people are tuned in for the right reasons, and it’s great that we can all talk about things that are important and hard and you can have your opinions on that,” Brink added. “But I think taking something that’s a non-issue right now and trying to use it for clickbait, for views, for likes, and then targeting a vulnerable community is just really low.”
