Murray McNeil said the patrol car’s radar unit pegged the speed of the vehicle at 158 kilometres per hour. The driver was identified as a 31-year-old Calgary resident who was issued a $368 ticket for excessive speeding and had his Toyota impounded for seven days.

So they clock him at 150+ and only fine him 368? Seems kinda low tbh. Also why are people even doing that near Sicamous at 9:30pm.
Wait was this the same Hwy 1 that gets all those speed traps by the mountains? I heard if you get radar’d once they take your car for way longer than 7 days, so idk. Maybe the Toyota Camry was doing it itself like autopilot or something lol.
I can’t even believe they impounded it for a week. On one hand yeah speed is dangerous, but then again these Mounties always sit there right after some idiot cuts someone off. 368 is just the “fee” though, like what’s that even teach anybody? People keep thinking highways are racetracks, then surprised when they get caught.
