Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo praise Mamas & Papas

Expecting a baby can feel daunting, and for those embarking on parenthood for the first time, determining which essentials to purchase and which can be postponed can be quite a challenge. Mamas & Papas is now providing complimentary personalised ‘Buying for Baby appointments’ that celebrity couple Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo have described as the ‘best experience ever’. These consultations can be scheduled in advance through their website, with options for either in-store visits or virtual sessions, according to individual preferences. Expectant parents seeking comprehensive

support might consider booking The Full Works appointment, lasting 90 minutes and encompassing all infant product categories, while those with limited availability during working hours can opt for a 60-minute Out and About session. This provides sufficient opportunity for soon-to-be parents to evaluate different brands and watch demonstrations of their preferred items. Those with tight schedules may prefer the Short and Sweet 30-minute consultation, which proves ideal for learning more about particular products. First-time parents Jamie and Sophie have revealed how using the Mamas &

Papas service enabled them to design the ideal environment for their newborn, commenting: “Creating our dream nursery has been such an emotional and special part of the journey. We wanted a space that felt both beautiful and practical, and every piece we chose strikes that balance – it just feels perfect. “There were so many decisions when preparing for Ziggy’s arrival and the guidance in our ‘Buying for Baby’ appointment made everything feel so much calmer and more considered.” Mamas & Papas offers an extensive

range of products for infants and young children, including cots, pushchairs, car seats, travel systems, feeding essentials and much more. Customers can also benefit from rewards such as a £100 voucher when spending £1,000 with the store, as reported by Mirror. One notable item is the £849 Ocarro 2 Pushchair – Americano, which is appropriate from birth through to four years of age. With a one-handed compact folding mechanism that collapses in seconds, this practical product also features enhanced wheels and braking systems for improved

all-terrain performance. For those focusing on the nursery, the Atlas Cotbed Bundle (4 Piece) – Nimbus White may be worth considering, now reduced from £464 to £395. The product includes a chic woodgrain finish with three adjustable cot base heights, making it straightforward to settle a baby when bedtime arrives. Additionally, it transforms into a toddler bed to accommodate children until they’re four years old, offering excellent value for money. Beyond practical purchases, expectant parents can also find toys with discounts of up to 50%

on the Mamas & Papas website. Those planning ahead for the toddler stage might want to take advantage of this delightful rocking horse in a ditsy floral pattern, now half price. Originally £119, it’s currently available for just £59. Alternatively, the charming Playmat and Gym – Welcome to the World Duckling has been reduced by nearly £22, dropping from £109 to £87.20. Suitable from 0m+, the neutral aesthetic would complement any nursery or living room. The retailer’s consultation services have been created to provide parents

with specialist advice suited to their lifestyle, home and budget, making them particularly useful for those expecting their first child. Meanwhile, John Lewis provides Nursery Advice consultations available both in-store and remotely. Offered in 90 or 45-minute sessions, they’re also ideal for first-time parents seeking product demonstrations along with assistance in selecting their preferred items. Bambinista additionally provides one-to-one personal shopping consultations either in-store or via Zoom call. The shop carries well-known brands including aden + anais, MAXI COSI and others. Returning to Mamas &

Papas, it appears Sophie and Jamie aren’t alone in appreciating the retailer’s offering, as shoppers have given the sessions glowing feedback. Jodie commented on The Full Works session: “They showed us exactly what we needed,” while another customer named Niamh praised the 30-minute alternative, noting it “took the guesswork out of getting ready.” On the reviews platform Trustpilot – where Mamas & Papas holds an ‘excellent’ rating – customers have been commending the retailer’s service. One reviewer shared: “We had a great experience buying for

our first baby! We booked a 90-minute appointment to go over strollers, carriers and car seats. Chloe made us feel at ease when we felt out of our depth. She answered all the questions we had, never pressured us to purchase anything, and gave us price match options as well. We felt really supported and confident to make decisions by the end of our appointment.” Another satisfied customer commented: “The service was fantastic, we attended a buying for baby appointment and were helped by Charlie

in the Leeds store. I couldn’t commend him more, he was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process and went the extra mile at every opportunity. I don’t think I’ve left a review for anything in about ten years, but his service was of a level where I felt the need to do so.” However, not all feedback was entirely positive, with one customer expressing disappointment: “Lots of items available in store. Had booked a one-hour appointment to look at prams and car seats. I

was left disappointed as the staff were not providing information/tricks/tips. We had to ask specific questions to prompt any information from our own research online. Another staff member eventually saw us confused and trying to figure out the pram by ourselves and stepped in. I would’ve appreciated this from the beginning.” Notwithstanding these concerns, customer feedback remains largely favourable, with one satisfied parent writing: “Had a Buy for Baby appointment with Jessica today at the Stratford branch – she was brilliant from start to finish

– she knew her stuff, wasn’t shy about offering opinions and really made us feel comfortable. Brilliant.”

  1. I don’t get it, so they’re just like… doing a sales pitch but personalized? Like “best experience ever” okay but can a consultation really prepare you for parenthood lol. I feel like they skip the hard parts.

  2. Maybe this is why everything is so expensive now. Like first-time parents need a 90 minute appointment to figure out which baby stuff to buy?? My cousin just went to Target and got whatever. Also “virtual sessions” sounds kinda pointless unless the baby products are the ones giving the advice. Idk.

  3. Complimentary appointments are cool, but I’m curious how it works if you don’t want their brands. Do they still recommend the same stuff or do they pretend it’s all options? 30 minutes “Short and Sweet” sounds like they’ll show you like 3 items and be done. Either way congrats to them I guess.
