It appears that Brock Lesnar is retired, meaning his retirement match was at WWE SummerSlam 2026 against Oba Femi, which he lost.
He appeared on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, to make his plans known. The usually stoic “Beast Incarnate” expressed his gratitude for his fans.
“I’m here today to let the world and everybody know that I am retired and I wanted to say a big thank you to everybody,” he said. “Saturday was a very emotional day for me.”

It sounds like Lesnar actually tried to retire after his WrestleMania 42 loss; it prompted him to think he was done. However, he ultimately decided to return for two more matches against Femi.
“It’s kinda weird, because when Oba Femi slammed me at WrestleMania, I was like, ‘I can’t do this again. I think I’m done,’” he recalled.

Very rarely does anyone stay retired in professional wrestling. Since returning to WWE in 2012, Lesnar has not wrestled consistently. He had a part-time schedule, meaning he only wrestled occasionally.
In turn, his body may have less wear and tear than others who wrestle weekly. However, he may just want to be done. Lesnar has been wrestling in WWE for most of the last 20 years.
Never say never, though. Lesnar could always be given an offer he can’t refuse, leading to one more match. After all, he never paid off his stare-down with Gunther at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
More than likely, Lesnar is done, though. He reportedly retired following his loss at WrestleMania in 2020, but he ultimately would return at SummerSlam in 2021.
The “Beast Incarnate” ends his career as a 10-time world champion. He also won two Royal Rumbles (in 2003 and 2022), a King of the Ring tournament (in 2002), and a Money in the Bank ladder match (in 2019).
