Family and Community Urge Answers in British Columbia Mother’s Disappearance

Nearly two years after a mother of three vanished from her rural property in British Columbia, family members and local community organizers are continuing their public push for answers, while investigators maintain that foul play is suspected in her disappearance.

Jennifer Provencal was 51 years old when she was last seen on Feb. 5, 2025. According to her husband, Tom Boulding, the couple had an argument at their off-grid home near 100 Mile House in the Forest Grove area. Boulding stated that he left the residence and later returned to find her gone. At the time, they lived on the rural property with their youngest son.

Sunday marked the one-year anniversary of the initial community-led walk organized in Forest Grove to raise awareness and support for the search. Anita Coombe, who organized that first gathering, reflected on the emotional weight of the ongoing ordeal during Sunday’s commemoration.

“It’s pretty emotional,” Coombe said. “Very heartwarming. It’s also heartbreaking.” She added that supporters firmly reject the notion that Provencal simply chose to leave voluntarily, asserting that she would never abandon her children.

Provencal’s sister, Johanne Provencal, traveled from Montreal to participate in the walk and express gratitude to the local residents who have continued to advocate for her sister. Johanne formally reported her missing in April 2025 after discovering that her sister had not been seen in two and a half months.

Describing the period since the disappearance as the most difficult time of her life, Johanne voiced anguish over the silence surrounding the case. “Every day is harm, every day is torment. Every day,” she said, adding that she feels heartbroken.

“There’s someone out there who knows what happened to Jennifer,” Johanne continued. “There may be several people out there who know what happened to Jennifer and I just can’t believe it’s a year-and-a-half later and they’re still hiding the truth.” Despite the prolonged uncertainty, she emphasized that supporters remain resolved, stating, “We will not stop until the answers and the truth are uncovered.”

Law enforcement authorities have stated that they suspect foul play in the disappearance. Boulding has denied any personal involvement in his wife’s disappearance, though he has acknowledged that police are investigating him. The BC RCMP declined an interview request regarding the ongoing investigation.
