Coming in the aftermath of the death of Memphis Grizzlies forward Brandon Clarke back in May, the cause of it has been revealed on Friday in a report by the L.A. County Medical Examiner. With the NBA, the basketball world, and others mourning the passing of Clarke, there’s no denying the news shook the core of everybody back in May.
According to Melody Gutierrez of The Athletic, Clarke passed away due to an accidental overdose.
“BREAKING: Brandon Clarke’s death ruled accidental overdose of cocaine, heroin,” Gutierrez wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “The medical examiner also listed as a significant contributing condition the “combined effects of multiple prescription medications.’”
