Boston, Clark make history as Fever top Sky in OT

Fever beat – Aliyah Boston posted 34 points and 12 rebounds, Caitlin Clark added 32 points and 10 assists, and the Indiana Fever held off the Chicago Sky 114-106 in overtime on Thursday night.
INDIANAPOLIS — Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark took turns turning close moments into something that felt unbreakable, and the Indiana Fever escaped Chicago in overtime with a 114-106 win on Thursday night.
Boston finished with 34 points and 12 rebounds. Clark delivered 32 points and 10 assists as Indiana survived a regulation that almost slipped away—then finished the job in the extra session.
Indiana’s lead was cut to 96-93 with 18.9 seconds left in regulation. Clark answered with two free throws to push the Fever ahead by five. But Indiana then turned it over on an inbounds pass with 5.1 seconds left, and Skylar Diggins tied the game at 98 with a long 3-pointer.
The overtime stretch turned on small margins. Boston hit a jumper from the free-throw line to put the Fever ahead 106-101. On the next possession, Kelsey Mitchell raced ahead for a fast-break layup and Indiana’s lead grew to seven.
Sydney Taylor pulled Chicago within 109-106 with 24.1 seconds left in overtime, but Boston sealed it with two free throws.
The Sky struggled in the extra period, going 1 for 8 from the field in overtime.
Mitchell finished with 19 points and Lexie Hull scored 11 for Indiana. Indiana converted its first 23 free-throw attempts before a miss came 46 seconds into overtime. Clark went 15 of 15 from the line.
For Chicago, Taylor led with 30 points and Diggins added 21. Jacy Sheldon, Azura Stevens and Kamilla Cardoso each scored 10. Taylor started hot through three quarters, making nine of her first 10 shots and hitting all three of her 3-pointers. Cardoso fouled out with 3:40 remaining in regulation.
Indiana had controlled much of the rhythm early, leading by as many as 19 points in the first half. Chicago pushed back with a 14-2 run to close to 46-40 at halftime. The Sky then began the third quarter with a 16-7 run to take their first lead of the game, 54-53, since it was 7-6.
Chicago’s next game is at home against New York on Wednesday. Indiana plays at Connecticut on Saturday.
