Bose’s new QuietComfort headphones are now at Best Buy — but the original model is the better deal

Bose just dropped the next generation of its QuietComfort Headphones, and you can already preorder them at Best Buy. However, you might want to consider picking up the first-generation model of the headphones at a discounted price instead.

Best Buy has Bose QuietComfort Gen 1 Wireless Headphones on sale for $229, instead of $359, for a savings of $130 off.

The deal is available at Best Buy in seven colors, including black, ice blue, moonlight gray, petal pink, sandstone, twilight blue and white smoke.

This $130 markdown on Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones comes as the new Gen 2 Headphones release on Aug. 13. These headphones come in new colors and have a $359 price tag.

But because Best Buy is offering such a huge discount on Bose’s QuietComfort Gen 1 Headphones, it’s a great way to grab a pair for a cheap price. This version includes noise cancellation, up to 24 hours of listening time, a built-in microphone, on-ear toggle controls and a customizable EQ via the Bose app.

The new QuietComfort Gen 2 Headphones have improved audio performance, enhanced on-ear controls and more listening modes.

Deciding between the two headphone styles really depends on whether you want the newest technology or a big discount. Either way, Best Buy has both options.

Best Buy said the QuietComfort Gen 2 Headphones will ship shortly after the Aug. 13 release date. The Bose QuietComfort Gen 1 Headphones include next-day shipping.
