Bobrovsky rockets to No. 1 on TSN’s UFAs

Bobrovsky rockets – Sergei Bobrovsky has surged to No. 1 on TSN’s Top 50 UFAs list ahead of July 1, reshuffling the top of the market. The move comes with signs Rasmus Andersson may re-sign with the Vegas Golden Knights and that John Carlson’s rights have been traded to the Carol
On the eve of July 1, the top of TSN’s Free Agent Ranking board didn’t just shuffle — it flipped.
Sergei Bobrovsky is now sitting at No. 1 among the Top 50 UFAs. Nothing is official yet, but the ranking shift carries weight: it’s driven by Bobrovsky’s standing and by a market that’s suddenly getting crowded in some spots while thinning out in others.
Bobrovsky’s rise comes with an imperfect stat line. He may have recorded a save percentage below .900 for the first time in 14 years. Still, the broader picture is hard to ignore. The 37-year-old is one season removed from winning a second consecutive Cup. and the list places him as a “surefire Hall of Famer.”.
The scramble underneath him tells the rest of the story.
Previously, the top-ranked pending UFA right defenceman, Rasmus Andersson, was leading the board. Now he’s dropped to No. 15 — and the reason is simple: there are indications Andersson will re-sign with the Vegas Golden Knights. If that happens, he won’t reach the open market.
At the same time. the fate of another top name is already moving in a direction that makes a clean summer landing less certain. John Carlson’s rights have been traded to the Stanley Cup-champion Carolina Hurricanes. With that change, there’s a distinct possibility he will not make it to market either. For now, though, Carlson is still listed in the top five, sliding from No. 2 to No. 3.
That’s how the board currently reads at the top:
Sergei Bobrovsky (Fla) — 37, G, GP 52, G 3, Pts 0, .877 SV% — No. 1.
Jacob Trouba (Ana) — 32, RD, GP 81, G 3, Pts 5, — No. 2.
John Carlson (Car) — 36, RD, GP 71, G 14, Pts 60 — No. 3.
Rasmus Andersson (VGK) — 29, RD, GP 81, G 17, Pts 47 — No. 15.
Between those names and the rest of the list, the same theme repeats: players are being reshaped by circumstances as much as by pedigree.
Trouba holds steady at the highest level right behind Bobrovsky, sitting at No. 2. Carlson remains close to the very top at No. 3 even while his rights have already changed hands. Andersson, meanwhile, falls sharply once the re-signing signal starts to look stronger than any “market” path.
The ranking may not be official for every player’s future. but it already reflects how fast the NHL’s summer chessboard is moving: some players appear to be slipping off the board before July 1 even arrives. while others surge into the vacuum. And with Bobrovsky now first on TSN’s Top 50 UFAs list. the message is clear — this market’s reshuffling isn’t waiting for permission.
Sergei Bobrovsky TSN Top 50 UFAs July 1 Rasmus Andersson Vegas Golden Knights John Carlson Carolina Hurricanes Jacob Trouba free agent ranking
Wait Bobrovsky is #1 now?? But his SV% is like .877 so how is that even good lol
This is why I don’t trust TSN rankings. Like it says “nothing is official” but then it’s acting like Vegas re-signing Andersson is guaranteed. Also Carlson traded to Carolina already… so why is he still up there?
Rasmus Andersson dropping to 15 makes sense if he stays in Vegas, but I feel like TSN is just guessing. Also I’m confused about the whole “rights traded” thing—does that mean he’s basically signed already? If yes then the “free agent ranking” name is kinda misleading.
So Bobrovsky jumps because the market is “crowded” in some spots and “thinning” in others… ok but does anyone know the actual contract numbers? Like TSN always does this then the guy ends up elsewhere anyway. Carlson getting traded to Carolina Hurricanes sounds like he’s not going anywhere, yet he’s still No. 3. NHL front offices be wild.
