May 21. during Instagram Stories. the celebrity chef was asked a simple challenge: “What’s the smartest strategy to beat you on Beat Bobby Flay?” His answer came fast and specific. “It’s usually picking something I’ll definitely struggle with,” Flay said, adding: “Desserts, Asian cuisines.”.
Flay has been telling viewers for a while what tends to derail contestants. Earlier in March. when asked about a common mistake on the long-running show. he pointed to the way people try to “special” their way out of trouble. “They make a ‘special’ version of their signature dish,” Flay replied. “That’s where it always goes wrong.”.
