BMX’s semi-solid power banks go on sale

BMX SolidSafe – BMX says its SolidSafe magnetic power banks—built around semi-solid-state battery chemistry designed to reduce flammable electrolyte—are now available. Pricing starts at $59, and the lineup ranges up to 10,000mAh, including a claimed 6.8mm-thin 5,000mAh Qi2 mo
The power bank on your bag has always been the reliable workhorse—until you remember what’s inside it. This week, BMX is betting that the next leap won’t come from thinner plastics or faster charging numbers, but from what its cells are made of.
The company’s SolidSafe magnetic power bank lineup. first shown at CES 2026. is now available to buy through its website and Amazon US. with prices starting at $59. The pitch is a quieter kind of progress: semi-solid-state battery cells that use significantly less flammable liquid electrolyte than traditional lithium-ion and lithium-polymer designs. aiming to improve thermal stability and reduce fire risk. BMX also says the new chemistry helps batteries stay stable under extreme conditions. with greater resistance to physical damage and thermal stress than conventional battery packs.
BMX is bringing the SolidSafe range to market with both 5,000mAh and 10,000mAh models. Each one adds Qi2 magnetic wireless charging, USB-C fast charging, and an aluminum construction. The company frames the lineup as safer by design—built to limit the liquid electrolyte that can contribute to overheating. swelling. or fire.
There’s also a model built for people who hate bulk. BMX launched the SolidSafe Air, a 5,000mAh magnetic power bank it calls the world’s thinnest semi-solid-state Qi2 power bank. It measures just 6.8mm at its thinnest point, and BMX lists an 18.5Wh battery. The body is titanium-reinforced, with 15W Qi2 wireless charging and 20W wired charging via USB-C.
Beyond the battery chemistry, BMX’s bigger SolidSafe models come with a few practical extras. They include a built-in USB-C lanyard cable. a color display that shows charging information in real time. and support for up to 30W USB-C charging. One SolidSafe variant also adds a microSD card slot for onboard storage. giving the magnetic pack a second job when travel makes you pack light.
The story here is straightforward: BMX wants to move the conversation away from “how quickly” a power bank charges and toward “how safely” it does its job—starting with semi-solid-state power banks that are already on sale, and a 6.8mm model designed to disappear in a pocket.
