Bluey, mermaids and drone shows: Orlando’s summer lineup

Central Florida attractions are rolling out a busy summer slate, from SEALIFE Orlando mermaid performances to Bluey at Disney World, plus SeaWorld drone shows and Legoland’s World Cup LEGO events.

Orlando’s summer season is lining up to be less about scorching theme-park days and more about spectacle that keeps kids smiling, with new character experiences, nighttime drone displays, and even LEGO soccer play.

At SEALIFE Aquarium Orlando. “mermaids” are set to return for underwater meet-the-imagination performances that will run May 16 to 17 and May 23 to 25.. The attraction promises a fantastical encounter, including a meet and greet with one of the mermaids on land.. Behind the scenes, the performers use compressed air and silicone suits, holding their breath between intervals.. The aquarium says the performers can spend up to 30 minutes underwater per stint, with each silicone costume weighing around 30 pounds.. For families who have spent the past year absorbed in preschool television. Disney World’s newest draw arrives at Animal Kingdom’s Conservation Station.. Bluey is scheduled to begin at Disney World on May 26. following Disney’s earlier announcement that the experience will include character greetings. dance parties and games.. For parents, the timing is pitched squarely at peak summer attention spans.

SeaWorld Orlando is also putting an emphasis on night-time showmanship with Electric Ocean. a new drone show tied to the park’s nighttime programming.. The display will run on select dates from June 12 to Sept.. 7 and is included with regular theme park admission.. According to SeaWorld, hundreds of synchronized drones will form images of sea creatures.. Electric Ocean also comes with fireworks and a fountain show. nighttime animal performances. dance parties with a DJ. and a cirque segment featuring acrobats.

SeaWorld is adding to the mix beyond the sky show.. The park says it is opening a new family thrill ride this summer. though it has not announced an official opening date.. Expedition Odyssey: Fire & Ice is themed around an arctic research post and takes passengers on a “prototype drone craft.” The company describes it as a “breathtaking cinematic journey.”

Just outside Orlando, a pair of attractions in Winter Haven are aiming their offerings at the youngest visitors.. Peppa Pig theme park is launching “Pig Family Travel Adventure,” a park-wide, passport-guided trek across five themed activity zones.. The event runs May 23 through June 28, and includes a scavenger hunt, meet and greets and photo opportunities.

Legoland Florida, meanwhile, is leaning into the sports moment without leaving LEGO behind.. With the World Cup heading to Miami this summer. the park is promoting the FIFA World Cup 2026 Experience from June 11 to July 19.. Families can build their own soccer kits with LEGO bricks. pose for pictures with a LEGO World Cup trophy. and take part in interactive games.. Legoland is also planning a separate summer expansion: its Lego Festival runs July 20 to Aug.. 16, featuring new “thrill and play zones,” hands-on build challenges, live shows and more.

Taken together, the slate makes Orlando and nearby Winter Haven feel like a destination designed for families who want frequent surprises: underwater fantasy, TV character buzz, drone choreography after dark, and LEGO play built around major events.
