Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds excluded from MSG wedding

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were not invited—and therefore did not attend—Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Madison Square Garden wedding on July 3, with a source saying the rift has reached a point of no return amid years of escalating fallout.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds were not in the building on Friday for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden. They also weren’t there for the rehearsal dinner a day earlier, either—an absence that now feels less like an oversight and more like a door closing.

A source told MISRYOUM that Swift “wants to be around people she trusts and who bring her peace. ” adding that Swift and Lively “really were close” but “doesn’t think it’s something that’s going to be fixed.” In that telling. the friendship has gone past repair: “As far as [Taylor’s] concerned. their friendship is done.”.

The accounts match what MISRYOUM had previously confirmed: Swift did not extend a wedding invite to “The Town” actress. Page Six had also reported the exclusion last month.

The source described the shift as something gradual that hardened over time. “There was a point where Taylor thought she and Blake would get past all of this. ” the source said. explaining that Swift didn’t expect things to end the way they did. “At first she figured once everything settled down, they’d be fine.”.

But more events piled on. “Then more stuff kept happening and it just got harder to come back from.” By the time wedding planning narrowed down who would be there. the explanation turned from timing to emotion—and ultimately to boundaries. “It wasn’t one big thing, it was everything adding up. By the time Taylor was making decisions about the wedding and who she wanted there. she realized she just didn’t want that kind of energy around something so important and it really was a turning point for her.”.

Swift’s team did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Off the rehearsal dinner scene on Thursday evening. Lively and Reynolds were snapped far away from the pop star and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s wedding festivities. The couple were attending to their own family moment—supporting their daughter Betty as she competed in a horse show in Lake Placid. New York—photos shared by TMZ say. In that competition, Betty, 6, placed second.

Swift and Kelce, both 36, tied the knot on July 3 in a lavish ceremony at Madison Square Garden. The guest list included Swift’s close friends Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, longtime publicist Tree Paine, and childhood best friend Abigail Anderson.

Other names reportedly spotted heading into the A-list event included Machine Gun Kelly, Kelsea Ballerini, sports reporter Erin Andrews, “Modern Family” alum Eric Stonestreet and his wife, Lindsay Schweitzer, and Benson Boone.

The wedding came against the backdrop of a friendship that had already started to crack. The source’s description points to a series of developments that culminated in Swift making a decision for her own peace—and that decision now reads as final.

The breakup with Lively dates to 2025, when Swift was dragged into the actress’s legal drama with Justin Baldoni. In January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million lawsuit against Lively, Reynolds, and their publicist, alleging defamation, extortion and more. The lawsuit was dismissed that June.

Court documents included texts shared by Baldoni from the “A Simple Favor” star, showing a discussion they had about the “Bad Blood” singer. One text attributed to Lively read: “I happen to have a few dragons. For better or worse, but usually for better.”

Baldoni had previously subpoenaed Swift to appear in court as a witness. Later, in May 2025, Swift was issued a subpoena to appear as well, but that same month Baldoni dropped Swift’s subpoena.

In other alleged messages. Lively referred to the pop star and Reynolds as her “most trusted partners.” In another alleged text. she wrote: “Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. [Smiley-face emoji] you will too, I can promise you.”.

Additional private text messages between Swift and Lively were exposed in court documents in January. In one message from 2023, the “Fortnight” singer took aim at Baldoni, saying he had “gotten out his tiny violin.”

The separation also shows up in ordinary, visible milestones. Lively was absent from Swift’s bachelorette activities in June. The legal drama placed a wedge between the women, and they haven’t been seen together since 2024.

Before the fallout, the friendship was long-standing: Lively and Swift first became friends in 2015. They had also shared personal ties beyond celebrity—Swift is a godparent to Reynolds and his wife’s four children. and Lively and Reynolds supported Betty’s horse show while Swift and Kelce’s wedding played out on Madison Square Garden’s biggest stage.

In the story of what changed, the details point to one outcome: by the time Swift was deciding who would be in the room for a wedding like this, she wanted a specific kind of energy—and the people associated with the legal storm were no longer part of that future.
