Black Apple Vision Pro photos spark hope, then doubts

black Apple – More leaked images show what appears to be Apple Vision Pro parts in a black colorway, shared by a Hong Kong developer on X. The photos are detailed enough to look convincing, but the inconsistencies in the design suggest early prototypes—and Apple hasn’t hint

A set of fresh photographs has put the rumor of a black Apple Vision Pro back in the spotlight—close enough to make people pause, but messy enough to stop short of certainty.

On Wednesday. a Hong Kong-based developer known as Pipfix. also identified as LusiRoy8. posted a collection of images to X showing what looks like key components of the Apple Vision Pro in a black colorway. One close-up focuses on a grille and a camera on the side of the headset. framed as confirmation that the device in question matches Apple Vision Pro hardware.

Other shots move from face-level details to the stuff people notice in real use. There’s an image of the connector for the battery pack, with the mechanism left uncolored. Another shows the top of that battery pack, plus what’s described as a black braided cable. A final photo zooms in on the knob used to adjust the band—both the band and the knob appear in black.

The same account previously showed images of speakers on the side of the Apple Vision Pro in the black colorway. keeping the theme consistent. The leaker’s history with colors also factors into why these pictures spread so quickly: the account is said to have a track record tied to colors. including those of the iPhone 17 Pro.

But there’s a gap between “looks real” and “will actually ship.” In the earlier leak, the same account briefly said a black Apple Vision Pro was “upcoming.” In this latest post, there’s no similar promise—just a question to readers about whether they like the color.

The photographs are compelling. Still, they come with problems that are hard to ignore. The fabric surrounding the visor doesn’t quite match the pattern of Apple’s current version. The battery pack also appears wrapped in some kind of film. There’s another odd detail: a black wire wrapping between the person’s fingers. alongside another white wire visible further in the background of the battery shot.

Those mismatched elements don’t appear to be AI renders, but they also don’t look like a finished product. Taken together, they suggest the images could be early prototype models—test pieces where aesthetics and materials are tried out, then revised or abandoned.

That matters because Apple hasn’t given the public any sign that a black colorway is coming. The rumors have been floating since April 2025. and there’s also a December shot of a black headset connector mentioned in the discussion. Yet Apple hasn’t hinted at new color options for the Apple Vision Pro.

Even the most likely interpretation comes with a caveat. The band in the photos appears to be the Solo strap. which leads to the idea that this could be a prototype of the M2 model that never made it into production. And the argument for why Apple might hesitate is simple: the Vision Pro line sells in smaller numbers than mass-market devices. so there’s “no reason” to offer multiple colorways—at least not under normal product economics.

There is still a remote possibility that a black option could show up later, and the push-and-pull feels familiar: credible imagery, cautious speculation, and then the reminder that this could just be a prototype Apple tested and moved on from.

For now, the broader rumor picture also points to a longer wait for new hardware. Possible future model changes are said to be tied to the company’s Vision Product Team directing focus toward smart glasses development while thinner-and-lighter Apple Vision Pro technology is developed. The soonest a new model might be announced is described as 2028. though Apple has not said anything to supply chains about a timeline.

  1. I don’t get it, if Apple hasn’t even hinted anything why are we acting like it’s confirmed? Photos can be edited in like 5 minutes. Also the article says “inconsistencies” which sounds like they already know it’s not real.

  2. The “knob” being black and the band being black doesn’t mean anything to me. Apple always changes tiny details right before release, so this could still be accurate. Plus Hong Kong developer on X… that’s probably how they leak everything anyway, right? I feel like it’s coming.

  3. Apple Vision Pro in black is the only part of this I care about, like ok cool. But all these leaks about iPhone colors and stuff… then they say it’s a prototype and Apple hasn’t hinted. So are we just getting baited again? Idk I saw on TikTok someone said it’s already shipping, so this feels late.
