Bills’ Dion Dawkins is definitely a fan of Browns’ Jared Verse after heated joint practice duels

With the Buffalo Bills preparing for the 2026 NFL season, the short-term preparation has the Cleveland Browns in front of them for a preseason matchup on Saturday. As the Bills and the Browns have joint practice, offensive lineman Dion Dawkins would shout out young pass rusher on the Cleveland Browns, Jared Verse.

Dawkins would speak to the media after Thursday’s session, where he gave high praise for Verse, who is preparing for his first season in Cleveland after being traded from the Los Angeles Rams in the Myles Garrett blockbuster deal. With Dawkins heading into his 10th season in Buffalo and seeing a lot of defensive ends in his time, he would say that Verse has a “bright future,” according to Mary Kay Cabot.

“He’s one of those that he brings it,” Dawkins said. “And being able to come out here and practice and practice against him, where I know I can try some things because he’s really not going to hit Josh [Allen]. It feels good, and I love the kid. He has a bright future as he keeps going. His bull rush is insane. So talk about that; his bull rush is definitely good, he’s gonna rack up sacks all season long. I’m a Verse fan. I’m a Verse fan, and he’s been playing well.”

At any rate, the Bills and Browns look to prepare for not just the preseason matchup against one another on Saturday, but to each of their Week 1 matchups. For Dawkins and Buffalo, Week 1 is on Sunday, Sept. 13 against the Houston Texans, whereas Verse and Cleveland get ready for the Jacksonville Jaguars on the same day.
