That sequence—listing a specific date, then taking it down—often happens when a real release window is posted before the company wants it visible. Screenshots reportedly captured the original date before it disappeared, keeping the June 25 claim alive even without confirmation from Google.
The timing also catches the eye. June 25 falls four days after spring officially ends on June 21, which adds a little more weight to the idea that this wasn’t just an invented placeholder.
The bigger picture is the length of the wait itself. Since October 2025. Google has been rolling out Gemini for Home to existing hardware—updates have been landing three to four times per month since March 2026. For many buyers. that means the delay hasn’t looked like a stalled product launch so much as a careful staging of the AI across current devices before introducing new ones.
At launch. the Home Speaker is expected to be built around a 360-degree fabric design. with the base handling the microphone mute switch and a ring of status lights. The only part I care about is the microphone mute switch and the glowing ring lights. Like if it can’t mute properly then what’s the point.
