Bellagio stay marred by Wi‑Fi and missing perks

Bellagio stay – A recent stay at The Bellagio on the Las Vegas Strip delivered the hotel’s usual spectacle—fountains, lobby gardens, renovated rooms—but fell short in the areas a guest expected most from a Bilt “Home Away From Home” booking, including an upgrade, late checkou
By the time the lobby’s glass-and-green conservatory gives way to the bright Las Vegas Strip, The Bellagio always seems designed to impress. This time, though, the frustration started long after the fountains finished their show.
The guest—who shared a room tour during a recent stay—described a generally disappointing experience despite staying in a renovated room on a high-up floor. The Bellagio’s landmarks were still there: the fountains out on the Strip. the lobby’s spectacular ceiling sculpture by artist Dale Chihuly. and an iconic 14. 000-square-foot botanical garden and conservatory. The renovated rooms also helped soften the blow.
But the booking details—specifically a Bilt “Home Away From Home” reservation—set expectations the guest said the stay didn’t meet.
The biggest gap was an upgrade that never came. The “1 Premier. King. View. 1 bed” room the guest booked was expected to deliver a strong outlook. but room 28033 looked over the back of the hotel. The guest said the view included some swimming pools—while missing the Strip and the Bellagio Fountain entirely. Instead, the window looked toward Interstate 15. The hotel. the guest said. also did not deliver on the promised upgrade even though Bilt Home Away From Home indicates upgrades are subject to availability.
That disappointment was compounded by what the guest described as unresponsive concierge service. The hotel says guests can text the concierge service number for assistance 24/7. yet the guest said multiple attempts to get help—specifically with tickets to a show—received no reply. Only after the guest was reminded that checkout was required by 11 a.m., the conversation returned.
Wi‑Fi was another breaking point. “There’s no excuse for bad Wi‑Fi these days,” the guest wrote, but they said streaming didn’t work well and Zoom calls were also poor.
Then came the late checkout issue. Late checkout is described as part of the benefit tied to the booking through Bilt. but the guest said it didn’t happen. After calling the front desk. the receptionist reportedly said they didn’t do late checkout after noon—something the guest found confusing. especially because they were moving hotels and couldn’t check into the next property until 3 p.m.
All of that landed on top of a price the guest called expensive. The guest said they paid $769.86 for two nights after applying a $100 credit from using Bilt Cash to book through the Bilt portal. Without the Bilt Cash credit, the guest said the two-night total would have been $870—adding the $50-per-night resort fee. The guest said they also received a good statement credit from Bilt. which softened the impact. but not the overall feeling of paying nearly $900 out of pocket.
Still, the guest pointed to several elements that worked well. They praised the location and the fountains. saying a show runs every thirty minutes in the afternoons and then every 15 minutes at night. They also said the food and beverage options were plentiful and convenient. and that the credits tied to the Home Away From Home booking were easy to use. The guest said their booking included a $100 F&B credit at the resort and a daily $30 breakfast credit for two (up to $30 breakfast per person at participating venues including Sadelle’s. The Buffet. Bellagio Patisserie. Pool Cafe. Patio or Cafe Bellagio). They also said they counted more than 15 dining options and had no issues using the credits at the end of the stay.
Outside the hotel itself. the guest highlighted the casino and a shopping mall attached to the property. and they said being in the center of the action mattered: The Bellagio is located between Caesars Palace and Aria. with major attractions in Las Vegas within walking distance. They even pointed out one nearby example—Drag Race Live at the Flamingo.
The guest acknowledged the trip timing may have played a role, noting there were several large conventions in town during their visit, adding that they might have been unlucky on some of the issues.
In the end, the takeaway wasn’t a full dismissal of the hotel. The guest wrote that they’d stay again if the price was right. appreciating the chance to use Bilt credits and liking the renovated rooms. They also said the key is to set realistic expectations for what you get when booking via a third-party like Bilt Home Away From Home or American Express Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts—and they suggested not going during a major conference in Las Vegas.
Bellagio Las Vegas Strip Bilt Home Away From Home late checkout concierge Wi‑Fi room upgrade resort fee travel review
Vegas hotels always act like you’re lucky to be there, but then you get a view of a freeway??
I mean the fountains and gardens are cool but missing the Strip view is a scam in my opinion. If Bilt said an upgrade, they shouldve just upgraded it.
Wait so they didn’t even text back about tickets? That’s wild. Also if the room was renovated and still bad, doesn’t that mean Bellagio is just renovating everything but the internet lol
This is why I don’t trust those ‘Home Away From Home’ bookings, sounds like availability means “never.” Also Wi‑Fi missing perks?? Like, isn’t the whole point you get stuff included? I’ve stayed places where concierge never answers unless you call like 6 times and then they act annoyed. Sounds like they got stuck looking at Interstate 15 and then had to rush checkout after not getting help… typical.
