Before the real ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ pizzeria opens in N.J., catch up on these games first

It was only a matter of time before the popular horror game “Five Nights at Freddy’s” finally got its own real-life pizza joint — and it’s opening its doors in the Garden State.

Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Bunny, Chica the Chicken and Foxy the Pirate Fox will take the stage at the new Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza at American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, N.J. opening in 2027.

But before the pizzeria and arcade open, you’ll need to catch up on the lore behind the gruesome survival horror tale. Walmart, Amazon and Best Buy have several of the series’ titles — including ones on sale — to prepare you for the live experience.

The games offer the backstory and details behind the design of the real Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which will be located in the Park Court on Level 2 right next to Five Guys. Gamers can expect to step inside an authentic pizzeria where they can enjoy quick service dining and play in the arcade, staying true to creator ScottGames’s original game.

Gamers will be able to watch two animatronic stage shows featuring Freddy and the Fazbear Band on the Main Stage, as well as Foxy the Pirate in his Pirate Cove. Afterward, they can really step into the horror element of Freddy’s world by taking part in survival horror-inspired multiplayer game experiences.
