Bee Shaffer and Francesco Carrozzini have confirmed they’re separating, just weeks after attending the Meta Gala together and after ten years as a married couple.
Bee Shaffer and Francesco Carrozzini aren’t giving details about what happened next, but they are clear about what has already changed: the couple is separating.
In a joint statement shared with Page Six on Friday, May 15, Shaffer, 38, and Carrozzini, 43, said, “After 10 wonderful years together, we have decided to separate.” They also confirmed they share a son, Oliver, 4, and said they’re determined to coparent “amicably” despite the breakup.
“Although our career paths led us in different directions. we remain the very best of friends and devoted. committed parents to our son. ” the statement continued.. “This is the only statement we will make. and we respectfully ask for privacy.” Us Weekly has reached out to the couple’s representatives for comment.
The separation arrives with unusually fresh visibility, given the couple’s recent public appearances. Less than two weeks earlier, Shaffer and Carrozzini attended the Meta Gala together on May 4, where photos showed Shaffer still wearing her wedding band.
Their romance has been less constant on social media than in tabloids. Shaffer was first linked to Carrozzini in October 2016, after she attended an NYC screening cohosted by Anna Wintour of his documentary, Franca: Chaos & Creation. The two announced their engagement the following year.
They married in July 2018 in an intimate celebration at Wintour’s home in Mastic. New York. with vows exchanged in front of 150 people.. Reports from the event said guests’ phones were confiscated to protect privacy, along with a social media ban.. Shaffer and Carrozzini also marked their relationship with a second celebration in Portofino, Italy.
Even as they kept things relatively low-key, Shaffer and Carrozzini did occasionally post tributes to one another.. In September 2017, Shaffer wrote, “Taming a stallion isn’t as hard as they say.. Happy birthday @francescocarrozzini. love you the most!” A year later. she shared a cozy photo and joked. “At your birthday two years ago when I thought this was just a fling… love you FC.”
Carrozzini, for his part, posted a loved-up tribute in February 2020, captioning a selfie of the pair: “Long road ahead my valentine ❤️ @beecarrozzini.” Shaffer’s last Instagram post showing Carrozzini dates to March 2024, while Carrozzini hasn’t shared a photo of Shaffer since May 2022.
For Shaffer, the split also lands far from her family’s spotlight.. Anna Wintour. the fashion media mogul who is Shaffer’s mother. is best known for her longtime role as editor-in-chief of Vogue. though she announced in June 2025 she was stepping down from that position.. Wintour was first married to child psychiatrist David Shaffer in 1984.
Shaffer married Carrozzini in July 2018; Carrozzini is the son of late Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani.
The couple’s message now is restrained and focused: “This is the only statement we will make,” they wrote, asking for privacy as they move forward together as parents—even as they separate as partners.
