Barron Trump targeted with $10 million reward offer for his death in Iranian state TV video as Secret Service investigates

“The U.S. Secret Service is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward our protectees,” Secret Service spokesman Nate Herring said in a statement. “Out of concern for operational security, we do not discuss matters of protective intelligence.”

The agency did not reveal what, if any, protective measures are being taken in response to the nearly three-minute video, which was broadcast over the weekend of August 22 by state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting.

The clip opens with an English-language graphic reading, “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” and highlights locations where the president’s son is publicly known to spend time, including Trump Tower in New York City.

According to CNN, the video’s narrator references people “eagerly waiting to receive our $10 million reward.”

Throughout the clip, its creators claim Barron is being closely monitored and allege they have information about his whereabouts.

The video also includes stylized imagery, including a depiction of a hacker sitting in front of a computer.

A federal law enforcement source told CNN the broadcast is part of a wider Iranian campaign targeting the president and members of his family. Some of the propaganda videos have included information about their movements and suggestions for killing them, according to the report.

The latest threat comes weeks after Barron and his mother were targeted in a separate propaganda video produced by Iran-linked Tasnim News Agency.

That video, titled “Where to Kill Melania,” purported to reveal information about the first lady’s security procedures and movements and suggested ways she could be targeted. It also singled out people connected to Melania’s wardrobe and styling team and suggested assassins could use a nerve agent to contaminate clothing at high-end stores where she shops.

The disturbing clip ended by turning its attention to the president and first lady’s only child. “This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, wait for us,” the narrator warned.

The threats against Barron and Melania come amid heightened tensions between the U.S. and Iran following months of military conflict.

In February, the U.S. and Israel launched a joint attack against Iran, carrying out strikes officials said were intended to prevent the country from acquiring a nuclear weapon. The conflict followed America’s 2025 bombing of three key Iranian nuclear facilities during Operation Midnight Hammer.

The president has also been the target of Iranian threats. While attending a NATO summit in Turkey in July, officials received a threat involving a shoulder-fired missile that was considered serious enough to dramatically alter the president’s departure plans, CNN previously reported.

Donald publicly announced that he would leave Turkey aboard an older presidential aircraft rather than the Qatari-gifted jet he’d more recently used. But the president was secretly transported inside a catering truck before boarding a different military aircraft, while much of his staff and the traveling press remained aboard the decoy flight without knowing he wasn’t with them.

The president addressed the continuing danger from Iran in July, telling reporters, “I’m on whatever list … so far, I guess I’ve been a bit lucky, but maybe that doesn’t last very long. These are evil, sick people.”
