ARLINGTON, Texas — The Dallas Wings didn’t just win at home on Monday night. They arrived with the kind of control that turns a building quiet, then keeps it that way.
Top draft pick Azzi Fudd gave the spark from the bench with a season-high 12 points, helping Dallas set the tone early against the Washington Mystics. Paige Bueckers followed through with 18 points and seven assists, and the Wings ran away for a 92-69 victory.
Arike Ogunbowale scored 16 points for Dallas, while Jessica Shepard finished with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and six assists.. Dallas improved to 2-2 and earned its first home win in three attempts this season.. The Wings also turned Washington’s mistakes into momentum. scoring 23 points off 18 turnovers. and stretching the lead to as many as 25 points.
Shepard matched the league’s single-game high for rebounds this season. a ceiling Dallas needed to keep Washington from getting comfortable.. Bueckers added another layer with efficient shooting from deep, making 4 of 5 3-pointers.. Nine of her teammates combined to go 7 of 19 from the field. but the overall performance didn’t hinge on any one stretch—it was the team rhythm. especially after turnovers forced the Mystics into tougher possessions.
Dallas took control of the game by closing the third quarter on a 19-6 run, building a 66-46 lead. The fourth quarter started the same way the night was moving—fast and decisive. The Wings scored seven of the first nine points to go up 73-48, effectively turning the remainder into a routine.
For Washington, Shakira Austin led with 12 points and Lauren Betts added 11 off the bench. Kiki Iriafen had nine points and 10 rebounds, but the Mystics (2-2) couldn’t match Dallas’ ability to turn disrupted plays into points.
Maddy Siegrist also contributed 10 points off the bench for Dallas. The Wings recorded 20-plus assists for the third time in four games, a reminder of how much of their offense came from connecting passes into open looks.
Washington now turns to a tough stretch: it heads to Seattle for the first of back-to-back games against the Storm, beginning Sunday. Dallas begins a three-game road trip on Wednesday at Chicago.
