Audi Field to host 2026 NWSL Championship Nov. 21

D.C.’s Audi Field will host the 2026 NWSL Championship on Saturday, Nov. 21, with kickoff at 8 p.m. The match returns the title game to the East Coast and will air on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

On a Saturday night in November, Audi Field is set to become the center of the NWSL again.

D.C.’s stadium will host the 2026 NWSL Championship on Saturday, Nov. 21, a return of the league’s title game to the East Coast. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. The match will be broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

Tickets will go on sale later in the summer. Fans are being encouraged to sign up for the presale event on the league’s website.

The league plans to make a formal announcement Wednesday afternoon at the Southwest venue with league officials, the Washington Spirit, D.C. United, and Events D.C.

In a statement, NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman said, “Washington, D.C. has become one of the premier destinations for women’s soccer. with an incredibly engaged fan base. a vibrant soccer culture and a community that continues to champion the growth of our game.” She added. “As soccer captures the attention of fans across the country this year. the NWSL Championship will serve as a fitting culmination of a landmark year for our sport in the region.”.

It will be the second time Audi Field has hosted the championship. The city previously hosted the 2022 final, when over 17,000 fans watched the Portland Thorns defeat the Kansas City Current to capture the club’s third league title.

The championship isn’t expected to be the only draw. D.C. will also host multiple events leading up to the match, including the 2026 NWSL Awards, the NWSL Skills Challenge, and a fan fest. Additional details on those events are expected later.

Audi Field is owned by Major League Soccer side D.C. United and has served as the Washington Spirit’s full-time home stadium since 2023. Since the move, the Spirit have built what the team describes as consistent support and strong attendance, with the stadium referred to as “Rowdy Audi.”

This season, Washington has averaged 15,546 fans through five matches, including three sellouts. The Spirit are currently in fourth place in the NWSL standings with a 6-2-3 record and 21 points, and they’ll be looking to make their third consecutive NWSL championship.

Washington Spirit CEO Kim Stone said in a statement, “Audi Field is one of the best soccer atmospheres in the country, and DC shows up for women’s sports like few cities in the world.” She continued, “A fan base this passionate deserves events like this.”

  2. So is this the game where they play at like 8 and then stream it for Paramount+ like… the whole thing is on Paramount+ right? I swear I saw something about it being on ESPN too though lol. Also Audi Field sounds like an actual dealership.

  3. Wait it says “return of the title game to the East Coast” but didn’t it just happen last year? Or am I mixing it up with the men’s league. Anyway DC finally getting it makes sense cause they always got crazy fans for everything.

  4. I don’t even follow NWSL like that but “Rowdy Audi” is hilarious. Tickets later in the summer… so like nobody knows anything yet? Also why does it mention D.C. United owning it like that matters for a Spirit game? I’ll probably just catch highlights.
