Hamilton Police seek arson suspect; more sought in carjacking

Pedestrian injured after Bowmanville crash Durham Regional Police say a pedestrian suffered serious injuries following a single vehicle collision in Bowmanville on Friday. Cops responded around 12:25 p.m. to the scene in the parking lot of 2340 Regional Hwy. 2, where it’s alleged a Chevrolet pick-up truck was parked near the Montana’s restaurant when a male approached the vehicle and started a fight. It’s further alleged the pick-up truck attempted

to leave the area, but the pedestrian held onto the driver’s door handle and subsequently fell. As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was transported to a local-area hospital and later to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and co-operated with police. Anyone with cell phone, dash cam, surveillance footage or information about this incident is asked to contact Det. Const.   1. That’s wild. I thought carjackings were like, more violent? Also who gets into a fight and then just leaves??

  2. Wait, I’m confused—Hamilton Police and then it’s in Bowmanville? Sounds like the same guy from the arson thing is also doing crashes? Or is it just the title mixing stuff up. Either way if there was a fight at Montana’s why wasn’t the truck already locked up?

  3. The part about the pedestrian holding the door handle is terrifying, like why would they even be that close. And now it’s “more sought in carjacking” like every headline is connected. I hope that guy cooperated means he wasn’t drunk or something because parking lot crashes always seem sketchy. If they have dash cam footage why do they need Crime Stoppers at all, that number is always on there.
