Arsenal weigh €40m move for Club Brugge winger Tzolis

Arsenal exploring – Arsenal are exploring a deal for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis, with a potential fee discussed around €40 million. The 24-year-old, under contract until June 2029, has drawn attention after a 17-goal, 23-assist season for Brugge. Arsenal also continue eva
The conversation started quietly, the way transfer talks often do—over what it would take for Christos Tzolis to leave Club Brugge.
But now, Arsenal have moved from admiration to exploration.
Arsenal are looking into the possibility of signing the 24-year-old winger. with a deal that could be possible for around €40 million (£34.5m. $46.3m). A move for Tzolis would not affect Arsenal’s interest in recruiting Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers or an alternative target as the club keeps working to strengthen their attack.
Tzolis is not a free agent waiting to be approached. His contract with Club Brugge runs until June 2029 after he signed fresh terms in July 2025, shortly before Crystal Palace made an offer to sign him.
That timing matters because it suggests Brugge has already been preparing for interest—and still, the numbers keep pulling teams in.
The 32-time Greece international scored 43 goals for Club Brugge across two seasons. He found the net 23 times for Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2. Bundesliga in 2023-24. part of a career path that has taken him from PAOK to Norwich City in 2021. on to FC Twente on loan the next campaign. and later to Dusseldorf before arriving in Belgium.
Arsenal’s interest fits the question Tzolis answered last month when Belgian outlet Nieuwsblad asked what kind of team could convince him to leave. His message was direct: it “will have to be a Champions League team from England. Germany. Spain. or Italy.” Then he added a joke that sounded like certainty—“Or well. if PSG comes knocking. I’ll probably go too. right?. (laughs) Then I’ll say I love France. But only PSG is a better option in France than Club Brugge.”.
He continued: “There might be a few more possibilities in the Premier League.”
Arsenal’s pursuit doesn’t stop at scouting one name, though. The search also reflects how the club is trying to shape its left-side attack for the long term.
Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli both have contracts due to expire in 2027. and there is a question mark over their futures. Arsenal have targeted the left wing as the area to strengthen this summer. and Tzolis’s profile lines up with what the team appears to be chasing: consistent attacking output.
Arsenal ended their 22-year wait for a Premier League title last month, but the sense of urgency hasn’t gone away. They were edged out by Paris Saint-Germain on penalties in the Champions League final, and the sting of that moment tends to make clubs look for solutions, not pauses.
This week, the effort to find that left-wing upgrade came with a second thread. The Athletic reported that Arsenal made an enquiry about Juventus’ 21-year-old Turkey international Kenan Yildiz. only to be told in no uncertain terms that he was not for sale. Arsenal are therefore pursuing other options.
Tzolis, in the meantime, brings Champions League experience of his own. He played the full match in Club Brugge’s three-goal defeat against Arsenal in December 2025.
If his ability is what got him onto elite radars, it’s also the season that’s making the timing feel right for a move. He has scored 17 goals and 23 assists for Club Brugge in the last season, putting him far above his peers in the Belgian Pro League.
He has scored over 20 goals in each of the most recent three seasons. He primarily operates on the left flank, but he has the ability to play anywhere across the front line.
He is a diminutive, right-footed winger, and he’s not just about quick dribbles and a first-step shoulder. His efficiency shows up in how he commits defenders—often making the best decision for the team—or in releasing a shot and setting up a teammate.
The picture emerging is straightforward: Arsenal are trying to refresh their attacking options, and the left wing has become the clearest place to start.
If Arsenal agree terms for Tzolis, it would be another step in a summer plan shaped by two realities—contracts nearing their end for Trossard and Martinelli, and the need to add a more reliable output profile.
After a title-winning season that still ended with a Champions League final defeat on penalties, Arsenal want the kind of reinforcements that can keep the momentum going immediately. Tzolis is now one of the names most closely connected to that idea.
