The temptation to skip sleep during F1 weekends usually comes with a price tag. This time, it doesn’t.
For the first time, Apple TV has made an entire F1 race weekend available for free to viewers in the U.S.—including live coverage of the Austrian Grand Prix from June 26–28. Fans don’t need a subscription. They just need to visit Apple TV and tune in.
The Austrian GP sits as the eighth race of the 2026 F1 season. It lands at the Red Bull Ring, and the schedule is packed from Thursday through Sunday.
Practice 1 is set for 7:30–8:30 a.m. ET on June 26, followed by Practice 2 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET on June 26. On June 27, Practice 3 runs 6:30–7:30 a.m. ET, with qualifying scheduled for 10–11 a.m. ET. The race itself begins at 9 a.m. ET on June 28.
That means the entire weekend is watchable live—practice sessions, qualifying, and Sunday’s Grand Prix—without spending anything.
The timing will feel particularly sharp for fans already locked into the season’s momentum. Mercedes have looked dominant, and the big question coming into the Austrian GP weekend is whether the tide is turning. Lewis Hamilton is part of that conversation too. with a stunning victory at the Barcelona-Catalunya GP putting him in a confident mood as he heads into Austria.
For viewers in the U.S., the barrier that usually stops people from watching—subscription access—is gone for this one race weekend. The open question isn’t how to follow the action. It’s whether you’ll actually be awake in time for each session at the Red Bull Ring.
