On a Wednesday that’s already circled—September 23, 2026—Apple TV will drop the first two episodes of its new comedy Brothers. And from the looks of it, the laughter won’t last long once a family secret comes into focus.

Brothers follows fictionalized versions of two longtime best friends, Woody and Matthew. Their friendship is put under strain after Woody’s daughter’s wedding falls apart. In the aftermath, Woody turns to Matthew for comfort. But the support he wants turns into something else entirely when Matthew’s mother tells him the two friends may actually be related.

Woody. the kind of person who will “do anything” to uncover the truth. pushes forward even as the revelation threatens to unravel the life they’ve built together. Matthew’s reaction is more complicated. He’s not just dealing with the possibility that his identity may be tied to Woody’s family history—he’s also in the middle of a very public political climb. running for Governor of Texas.

The series’ release schedule keeps the momentum tight. After the premiere on Wednesday, September 23, Brothers will air one new episode every Wednesday through November 4, 2026.

Brothers also features Nolan Almeida, Noah Carganilla, Ella Grace Helton, Brittany Ishibashi, Highdee Kuan, Natalie Martinez, Holland Taylor, and Oona Yaffe. Lee Eisenberg—described as a multi-Emmy Award nominee and Peabody Award winner—serves as showrunner and executive producer.

The project arrives as Brothers joins other Apple TV comedies, including the recently renewed Shrinking. Apple is also fresh off a high bar: The Studio became the first comedy ever to sweep all major awards in a single season.

  1. My cousin said this is basically like those family secret shows where everybody’s related and nobody talks about it. Also Governor of Texas storyline sounds kinda random like they just needed promo bait.

  2. Not to be that guy but “may actually be related” could mean literally anything. Like, they say Woody’s daughter wedding falls apart and then it’s all genealogy?? That’s a lot for 2 episodes. Also why is he running for Governor of Texas in a comedy, wouldn’t that be a drama thing?

  3. I saw the headline and thought Apple TV was doing some secret Apple scandal 😂 Brothers, Governor of Texas… September 23… idk it all sounds like they’re trying to copy a Netflix formula. If the first two episodes are dropped, does that mean it’s already streaming like right now? (because my friend said something about “one new episode every Wednesday” and I’m confused.)
