Apple Martin Makes Her Runway Debut at Chloé, Joining Fashion’s Famous Second Generation

Apple Martin has done the front row, the campaign and the debutante ball. On Thursday, she added the runway to her growing fashion résumé.
The 22-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin made her catwalk debut during Chloé’s spring 2027 show in Paris, emerging in a white broderie anglaise dress from Chemena Kamali’s latest collection.
The bohemian look combined rows of pintucking with eyelet flowers and circular embroidery, a ruffled placket and billowing sleeves, while brown platform sandals gave Martin several extra inches for her first trip down the runway.

The look put her squarely inside one of Kamali’s biggest preoccupations for spring. Broderie anglaise dominated the opening portion of a collection WWD’s Miles Socha described as a “confident, breezy” exploration of the designer’s Chloé obsessions, appearing across cotton, chiffon and organza and even migrating onto accessories.
For Martin, the show was also the next step in a relationship with the house that had already been well underway. In May, she landed her first Chloé campaign, photographed by David Sims for the brand’s Chloé à la Plage summer collection in airy dresses, broderie anglaise and beachwear.
Fashion has been becoming progressively less extracurricular for Martin. She first attracted substantial fashion attention from the front row at Chanel couture in 2023, made her society debut at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris the following year, and became a Self-Portrait ambassador in 2025. Campaigns for the London label followed, as did a Gap Studio appearance alongside Paltrow and, this year, Chloé.

The progression has plenty of precedent. Fashion Week has long provided famous children — sometimes disparagingly referred to as Nepo Babies — with a particularly visible way to turn a familiar surname into a modeling credit. Sometimes, it is simply a one-show surprise, but most times, it has served as the beginning of a much longer runway career.
Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban made one of the more recent jumps in Paris back in October 2024. The daughter of Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban was 16 when she opened Miu Miu’s spring 2025 show, making her runway debut only months after she started joining Kidman at fashion events.
Just a few short months after that, Kai Schreiber, the daughter of Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber, made her modeling debut on the Valentino fall 2026 runway in March 2025. Since then, she has wracked up a host of modeling gigs, including one for Simkhai’s fall 2026 collection alongside her mother.

Miu Miu had previously supplied another famous daughter with her first runway. Lila Moss, the daughter of Kate Moss and Jefferson Hack, opened and closed the house’s spring 2021 show at 18. By then, Moss had already spent several years modeling, including a Vogue Italia cover with her mother and work through the Kate Moss Agency.
Kaia Gerber’s debut came with even less runway easing-in. Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber’s daughter was 16 when she walked Raf Simons’ Calvin Klein spring 2018 show in New York in September 2017. Within the same Fashion Week, she was also walking Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Rihanna’s Fenty Puma collection, quickly turning one first walk into a full modeling career.

New York had another particularly busy round of second-generation debuts one year later. Madonna and Carlos Leon’s daughter Lourdes Leon walked her first show at Gypsy Sport in September 2018, wearing shredded low-rise jeans with a shell body chain. That same day, Laura Dern and Ben Harper’s son Ellery Walker Harper made his own runway debut at Calvin Klein.

And before that, Lily-Rose Depp had Chanel. The daughter of Vanessa Paradis and Johnny Depp opened Chanel’s 2016 Métiers d’Art show at the Ritz Paris in gold paillettes at 17, following Chanel eyewear and fragrance campaigns and years of connections between the house and Paradis.

Martin’s route has been somewhat slower and more incremental. She did not suddenly turn up at Chloé as a new face with an entire Fashion Month booked behind her. The runway followed several years spent moving from guest to campaign star to house collaborator.
