Anytime Fitness in Aldergrove set to open within weeks

Aldergrove’s Anytime Fitness location is closer to opening, with the club manager noting that the gym is about a couple of weeks away from welcoming members. Club manager Dan Letts said the facility is still in the final stages. “I wish we had an official opening date, but it will be anytime soon,” he said. “We’re about two to three weeks away from opening.” The space, located at 900–26310 Fraser Hwy., which was a former Boston Pizza restaurant, currently has machines in boxes ahead of

setup expected next week. Letts confirmed that recently hired staff are already in training, and pre-sales are set to begin on Friday, July 3. Franchisee Vancouver-based Dmitry Mishchenko owns nine other Anytime Fitness clubs in the Lower Mainland. “It’s under new ownership. It’s good ownership,” said Letts. The location is operating under new ownership after plans late last year were stalled following financial issues and a lease termination. Letts said Aldergrove residents can look forward to new equipment, complimentary personal training sessions when signing up,

and a body composition scanner that measures 40 different metrics. Letts, who is a Langley resident himself, said he expects the location to fill a gap in Aldergrove’s fitness options once the doors finally open.

  1. Sounds like they’re finally starting over after the lease stuff. Pre-sales July 3 is pretty soon, hope they actually have the machines out of boxes by then. New equipment and that body scan thing… kinda want to see if it’s accurate lol.

  2. Wait so it was Boston Pizza before? So is this like a conversion thing or did they just claim the space? Also “under new ownership” like that fixes the financial issues? I heard Anytime Fitness was basically closing everywhere, so I’m confused.

  3. I live near Fraser Hwy and it’s been empty forever it feels like. If they have complimentary personal training when you sign up, that’s cool… but training is usually just marketing to lock you into the membership. Still, 900–26310 Fraser Hwy should be good for Aldergrove, we don’t really have many options. Machines in boxes “next week” is like… literally tomorrow? Let’s see.
