AnnaLynne McCord and fiancé Danny Cipriani are talking back to the wedding industrial complex by crowdfunding to cover the cost of their big day. And who are they seeking donations from? Their wedding guests.
To avoid the fate of many couples who have lost money on lavish nuptials, the 90210 actress and her former rugby player beau appear to be taking a different approach by forsaking wedding gifts in favor of donations to pay for their ceremony, party, honeymoon and everything in between.

Through a wedding website created on the Honeyfund platform, the couple is requesting donations of anything from $100 to $600 and has created separate funds for wedding day elements, including their marriage license, flowers, reception drinks, and wedding photography.
“Help us create our dream wedding and honeymoon experience with any amount of donation,” a note on the wedding site reads.
According to a July 2026 Bank of America Institute analysis of payment data, wedding-related spending rose 8.5% over 2025 spending as tariffs and broader inflation push up costs. So, perhaps Cipriani and McCord are on to something here.
However, the move has caused backlash. “It’s extremely tacky and distasteful to ask guests to pay for your wedding – especially in this town,” one insider told The Sun of the couple’s wedding, which is scheduled to take place on August 22. “These are two celebrities who boast a lavish lifestyle.”
McCord has an estimated net worth of $4 million thanks to roles on Nip/Tuck and 90210 in the early 2000s and, more recently, her Emmy-nominated role in Days of Our Lives, which began in 2024.
Cipriani is also reported to be worth around $4 million after his English rugby career. He played for Wasps, Sale Sharks, Gloucester, Bath, and Melbourne Rebels, as well as earning 16 England caps.
McCord and Cipriani, who got engaged in April, first met on Raya in 2016. “We met 10 years ago but were on and off for a good four years, and in an open relationship, because he was playing rugby overseas and I was filming in L.A.,” McCord told People in April. “We separated in 2020 and then found each other again in February of 2024.”
“I called this 10 years ago,” she said. “I knew we were soulmates, I knew we were meant to be together. I was so sure, and I was not wrong.”
