Andrew Garfield Has a Secret Instagram Account, Says He’s ‘As Addicted As Anybody’

Andrew Garfield does not have a public account on Instagram, but he scrolls on the app just as much as anybody else.

The 43-year-old Oscar-nominated actor is opening up about the secret account he has on the social media app, including the type of content he sees.

Andrew told Variety that he’s often fed content about “weird ceramics” and “lots of Japanese kind of craftspeople.”

And he’s addicted!

“I’m as addicted as anybody. My screen time notifications are horrific to me. It’s like, I’ve given all of those hours to nothing,” Andrew said. “It’s genuinely enraging because we don’t have as much control over these impulses as we should, and it’s been by design. It’s pretty dark when you look at it.”

Andrew is currently promoting his new movie The Magic Faraway Tree, which is now playing in theaters. The family movie is based on Enid Blyton‘s classic children’s series. The original novels were published between 1939 and 1951.

Here’s a synopsis: “The Magic Faraway Tree centers on Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Garfield), and their three children as they are forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree that houses eccentric residents, including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nonso Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning), and Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns). At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular, fantastical lands, and through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learns to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years.”
