Andre Berto Warns Broner: Stream With a Grip

Andre Berto says he’s “thrilled” to see Adrien Broner move into streaming, but he warns him to avoid booze, risky interactions, and viral temptations—because the fame and money can return fast, and Broner has struggled in recent years.

Adrien Broner might be done with boxing for now, but the shift to streaming has brought a new spotlight—and Andre Berto doesn’t want Broner to lose himself in it.

Berto said he’s happy to see Broner back in the public eye “in the light,” after the former fighter teamed up with DeenTheGreat for Kick content aimed at Broner’s thousands of subscribers. Berto’s message, though, came with a clear warning: keep control, especially when the camera is rolling.

“I checked in on him recently to make sure he’s good,” Berto said when he spoke at LAX. “We’re happy to see him back up and in the light. But I told him, ‘You gotta get a grip of it,’ because he can easily put himself in a very compromising position.”

Berto pointed to two things he believes Broner needs to watch most closely on stream—booze and women. He said those are the biggest dangers for Broner right now. particularly because streaming culture can reward attention at any cost. The worry isn’t abstract. Berto said there have been concerns about Broner’s actions in front of the camera. including drinking and questionable interactions with women.

There’s also the question of momentum. Berto warned that money and fame can come back quickly in the entertainment world—faster than most people expect—and he wants Broner ready for that kind of rush.

“I just want him to learn from what happened the last few years and really try to shake himself up to try and get back on track,” Berto said.

The conversation carried a hard truth from someone who’s watched Broner’s past closely. Berto believes Broner has done too much damage to his body from boxing and alcohol to return to the ring again. Still, he doesn’t dismiss him. In Berto’s view. Broner can thrive in streaming—so long as he’s careful about what he puts on display.

The sequence in Berto’s message is simple: Broner gets a new platform. but the same temptations that have followed him before could quickly turn a chance at reinvention into something he can’t walk back. And for Berto. the goal isn’t to shut the doors—it’s to make sure Broner doesn’t walk through them without holding on.
