Amy Schumer didn’t ease into the July 4 mood—she stepped right into the frame.
On Sunday. the 45-year-old comedian shared a post on her Instagram Story celebrating the holiday with friends. captioning the photo “Epic Forth.” In the image. Schumer showed herself with a crowd of pals. writing that it was “Just a group of 25 friends who have known each other for 35 years with their families. Love you all.”.
Later in the same Instagram update, she posted a shot of herself in a figure-revealing blue one-piece bathing suit, paired with blue shorts and a matching baseball cap. Schumer credited the clothing brand Mother as well as Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman in the post.
For Schumer, the holiday post arrives after a year packed with changes. She has described a major weight loss transformation alongside other personal and medical developments, including her split from husband Chris Fischer.
Last December. Schumer told her Instagram followers she had lost 50 pounds to deal with a hormonal disorder called Cushing syndrome that she said she was diagnosed with in 2024. Before that, she also confirmed she was taking the weight-loss drug semaglutide after trying Wegovy three years earlier without success.
In March, Schumer spoke more directly about the difficulty of finding what works, saying in an Instagram video, “I couldn’t handle it.” She added, “I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula. Whatever.”
Her health updates didn’t stop at weight loss. In May, Schumer revealed she underwent “a botched colonoscopy” that affected her libido.
She shared that information while attending a recent “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast event, “Dear Media by Night,” and said she feels “happier than I’ve ever been before,” as she described to attendees.
The same year has also brought major upheaval in her personal life. Schumer and Fischer, 45, announced their separation last December after almost eight years of marriage. She later filed for divorce from the pro chef this past January.
In the Instagram post where she announced the split. Schumer wrote. “Blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years.” She added. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time.”.
Schumer is the “I Feel Pretty” star who shares son Gene, 7, with Fischer.
Between the July 4 photo and the months of health and life updates leading up to it, the message in her posts feels less like a single transformation and more like a continuing attempt to find steadier ground—one swimsuit photo, one medical confession, and one hard personal decision at a time.
