Amy Schumer didn’t keep her Fourth of July plans subtle. On Sunday, July 5, the comedian, 45, posted Instagram Story photos showing her outside with her crew—arms around friends—while celebrating the holiday in matching blue. In one shot, she posed in a blue one-piece with matching blue shorts.

“Epic fourth,” Schumer wrote in the caption, adding, “Just a group of 25 friends who have known each other for 35 years with their families. Love you all.”

In a separate Instagram Story, she thanked the people behind her outfit. “Thanks @chloeiscrazy and @mother for my suit!” she wrote, referring to Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman.

It’s a bright, patriotic post—but Schumer’s celebration comes after years of openness about her health and weight. In December 2025, she shared that she lost 50 pounds as a way to “survive” her battle with Cushing syndrome. The condition. she explained. happens when the body has too much cortisol for too long and can cause puffiness in the face.

Later, on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast in January, Schumer traced how the diagnosis came into focus. She said she got steroid injections, which she described as leading to Cushing syndrome, and that she wouldn’t have known about it if “the internet hadn’t come for me so hard.”

“So I got these was getting these steroid injections and so it gave me this thing called Cushing syndrome — which I wouldn’t have known if the internet hadn’t come for me so hard. ” she explained. “I learned I had this condition. and that I had something called moon face. and I’m starring in a movie — and there’s a camera right in my face.”.

Schumer. who is the mom of son Gene. has also talked about trying Mounjaro. describing it as similar to Ozempic. a medication used to treat weight-loss related issues. She said she welcomed Gene in 2019 with estranged husband Chris Fischer. and she filed for divorce from Fischer in January. one month after sharing their separation.

In a 2025 Instagram video, Schumer said she tried Wegovy about three years earlier. “Three years ago, I tried Wegovy,” she said. “I was puking, I couldn’t handle it. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula, whatever. But anyway, I went on this Telehealth meeting with Midi Health, and it was cheap. I wanted to try it myself ‘cause I wanted to recommend it to my friends who are nurses and teachers.”.

She then described additional treatment she said she got after realizing she was in perimenopause. “They put me on estrogen and progesterone because I realized I was in perimenopause and my symptoms from being perimenopause have disappeared. ” she said. “My hair is fuller. my skin is better. I have more energy. I want to get down more. if you know what I mean. I’m talking about sex. So that’s been great and Mounjaro’s been great.”.

Schumer also addressed how access works for the medication. She said the drug is “not covered by insurance unless you have diabetes or like severe obesity, which most of the internet thinks I have.”

She ended her remarks with a clear message about her own experience: “But I’m having a really good experience with it and I wanted to keep it real with you about that. Midi Health. I liked it so much and I had such a good experience [that] I invested in the company.”
