NBC has announced the show will be filmed for a primetime television special later this year.
The event is titled “Alan Jackson: The Last Show.” NBC describes it as a celebration of Jackson’s career and his “final concert performance” as he takes the stage one final time. The special will spotlight Jackson’s catalog of hits spanning more than three decades.
The timing also matters: Jackson’s last show is being shaped by the reality that he is stepping away from touring. He announced that decision as he manages his battle with Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease, an inheritable nerve condition. He revealed his diagnosis in 2021. and this announcement set the clock on what fans would be able to see live going forward.
