Reality check: this is a completely fictional theory with zero evidence behind it. Vampires aren’t real, Cage ain’t one, celebrity lookalikes have always existed, and Nic is just… Nic. Sure, he’s one of Hollywood’s quirkiest stars, but that doesn’t mean he’s spending his nights sipping blood and avoiding sunlight.

Marilyn Monroe Was Murdered?

Few Hollywood tragedies have sparked more speculation than Marilyn Monroe‘s heartbreaking death. After the screen icon died in 1962 at just 36, her death was officially ruled a probable suicide caused by a barbiturate overdose.

There’s just one tiny problem: Pikachu can’t “die” in this way! He’s a cartoon character, not a celebrity living a secret double life! Animators can just, ya know, keep animating him. Duh!! Still, that hasn’t stopped dedicated internet detectives from treating this animated mystery like it’s the greatest cover-up in Pokémon history. And don’t even get us started on those Mandela Effect theories!

Paul McCartney Was Replaced?

The “Paul is dead” conspiracy is easily one of the most famous celebrity rumors EVER.

According to this (obviously) completely debunked theory, Paul McCartney died way back in a 1966 car crash and was secretly replaced by a lookalike so The Beatles could keep rocking. Huh?!

Believers of this wacky opinion have spent decades dissecting album covers, song lyrics, and even barefoot photos for “hidden clues” proving the switch happened. Some even point to John Lennon‘s cheeky lyric, “those freaks was right when they said you was dead,” as supposed evidence.

The reality, of course, is that Paul has spent the last six decades making music, touring the world, and very much living his life. But that hasn’t stopped this legendary conspiracy from refusing to die!

King Charles Isn’t Prince Harry’s Father?

Just like a lot of the rest of the theories on this list, this royal rumor has been swirling for decades — and it’s one Prince Harry has never been able to escape.

The completely wacky theory in question claims Princess Diana‘s former riding instructor, James Hewitt, is actually Harry’s real father, and not King Charles. The reasoning, strangely enough, is mostly because both Harry and James have red hair. Seriously.

Sounds juicy to some, perhaps. But upon closer examination, the timeline completely falls apart. Diana didn’t begin her relationship with Hewitt until after Harry was already born — a fact both Diana and Hewitt repeatedly confirmed through the years. Hewitt has flatly denied the parentage rumor multiple times, even pointing out Harry was already a toddler when they met. But that hasn’t stopped internet sleuths from recycling this royal conspiracy every few years. Some gossip simply refuses to stay in the palace vault!

Stanley Kubrick Faked The Moon Landing?

Talk about giving a director WAY too much credit! One of the internet’s most famous baseless conspiracy theories claims legendary filmmaker Stanley Kubrick secretly helped NASA fake the 1969 moon landing, supposedly because 2001: A Space Odyssey looked so realistic. Believers even point to a viral “confession” interview Kubrick gave supposedly admitting to the ruse as their smoking gun.

There’s just one problem: it’s fake. The so-called documentary interview only ever surfaced after Kubrick’s death — and the man onscreen isn’t even Kubrick!! Meanwhile, the Apollo moon landings are backed by overwhelming evidence and decades of scientific research. But facts have never been a conspiracy theorist’s favorite genre, and this Hollywood-meets-space rumor keeps orbiting the internet anyway.

Marisa Tomei Didn’t Win Her Oscar?

This Hollywood rumor deserves an award for sheer persistence! After Marisa Tomei‘s surprise Best Supporting Actress win for her role in My Cousin Vinny at the 1993 Oscars, some viewers became convinced presenter Jack Palance accidentally read the wrong name — and that the Academy was too embarrassed to fix it. WTF?!

Sounds scandalous… except it never happened! The Academy has strict procedures to verify every winner, and there’s zero evidence Tomei’s Oscar was announced in error. Later on, Marisa even got in on the joke, hilariously mocking the rumor during a Saturday Night Live monologue.
