A.J. Brown’s ‘obsolete’ label in Eagles pro shop proves they’re ready to move on

The Eagles’ pro shop would label A.J. Brown jerseys as “obsolete,” proving that the team has moved on from all the noise.
With the Philadelphia Eagles losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the preseason opener, the team is now focusing their attention on the New England Patriots and former player A.J. Brown. As the Eagles and Patriots will have a joint practice, the team will take on Brown and the rest of the team, which is sure to be exciting; though if anybody were wondering whether Philadelphia has moved on from the wide receiver, the latest changes around the organization will reveal the answer.
According to The Athletic’s Philadelphia beat writer Zach Berman, the team store is having a $20 sale for “obsolete jerseys,” which are filled with Brown’s No. 11, which is only part of how the team is showing they’re ready to move on.
“Walk into the Philadelphia Eagles’ stadium pro shop this week, and you’ll encounter racks of $20 sale items labeled ‘OBSOLETE JERSEYS.’ They’re full of A.J. Brown’s No. 11 Eagles jersey — previously a popular item,” Berman wrote. “A side panel outside the stadium where an enormous banner of Brown stretched last year remains bare, ripe for fresh imaging.”
Talk around the Eagles and Patriots’ A.J. Brown will be revitalized
While every story and rumor surrounding the Eagles was about Brown, it all culminated when the star wide receiver was traded to the Patriots on June 1 for a first-round pick in 2028 and a fifth-round pick in 2027. Though Brown was the focus for a bit after, Berman would note that talk around the pass-catcher had died down.
“In the practice facility, they’ve already made the changes. A banner in the auditorium has been updated. Above the stage where the team holds meetings, reminders of fundamentals hang. A.J. Brown had been in an image demonstrating a specific ball security technique. That has since been replaced by an image of DeVonta Smith,” Berman wrote.
“On the field, the No. 11 previously worn by Brown now belongs to young linebacker Jihaad Campbell,” Berman continued.
However, that talk should revive with the Eagles and Patriots seeing a lot of one another this week ahead of the preseason battle between the two teams. Saturday.
